Title: SEX NOISE COMPILATION TAPE 2016
Post by: Zodiac on December 21, 2015, 11:36:15 AM
SEX NOISE COMPILATION TAPE 2016

We look for harsh noise or P.E. with strong focus on "sexual" themes. No pure "computer noise" but instead synths, metal junk abuse, etc.
Explicit samples from porn movies and other sources (as mourning women) are always welcome. From vanilla sex to BDSM and rape.
The choice is yours.

Tape will be 150 copies and factory made.

If you think you can come up with some strong material what fits above description, please contact us at: info@staalwaart.church

They can mourn or moan. Not a typo.

So far, from all people who did write, 4 promising acts are selected but there is still so much room. C´mon. This is OPEN to anyone. There should be
more interest in a faithful combination of "sex" (classic industrial sense) and "noise". Really. Maybe i am wrong. Is the time for open invitation all over ?
I dont take any crap in. You think you have the skills, entertain me and get some copies of a well made compilation in return. Enjoy the sounds of
nasty comrades. Fell free. Let them moan or mourn. Contact us NOW !!!

Maybe you should just do it the old fashioned way and do the leg work yourself?

I am doing fine. Thanks.

EDIT: I forgot about the most important part for this "open invitation" approach.
I like to meet new people and new sound. Out of the blue experience.
This has nothing to do with not willing to do so-called "leg work".

not to sure you will find any new sound though. feels like these themes attract people of a certain kind and with a certain sound. and rape... really?

i actually did meet "new" people (people i didnt knew before nor did i knew their sounds), so far this is going not that bad actually.
rape ? if for you all possible themes of sexual matter in industrial are about rape. well, that´s your tought then.

EDIT: what is the fucking problem with rape as a theme in extreme industrial and related styles ?? tell me, i am curious.

My assumption is that it's the changing climate of underground.

Quote from: noisey/vice talks about Death MetalOnce the go-to genre for tasteless gore and shock value, most younger bands seem to have cleaned up their image. The violent misogyny that frequently appeared in the genre's golden age is now passé if you're not a generic slam band. There just isn't any room for "Entrails Ripped From a Virgin's Cunt" or "Skin Her Alive" in today's metal scene.

It was already 10-15 years ago when some long time noiseheads brought up what they consideredpussyfication of noise. I'm quite confident that even if from perspective of this board or labels & bands active here it may seem unlikely, we're going to see the same SJW hype against all the usual "transgressions" what now still exists in core of genre. Just like seen on articles such as "fascism in ambient music". Of course there will be endless amount of people with endless amounts of reasons why rape isn't the best subject for music. There might be workshop somewhere going on right now based on this notion.

I guess you are quite right with that but that is one more reason to keep the things up that someone (in this case: me) likes in his stuff. I dont mind
what other people think about it. I force nobody to take part in this nor to buy the release(s).

So far, the following people will contribute new and exclusive tracks:
- Violet Storm And The Filthy Hammers
- Streetcleaner
- MBD
- Androphilia

If more people want to join the party and can contribute good stuff, write me. If not, it will be a short tape because i will do this.

It's a comforting idea to imagine that the handful of lefty weirdos writing articles and holding panel discussions on fascism or misogyny in noise might form the bulk of critique to be leveled at why rape is or is not a worthy angle in Power Electronics....it would be really great if the dissenting voices just didn't 'get it' and have no idea about what lies in the 'core of the genre', leaving the real appreciation to us fanatics.  The low hanging fruit of a vice article would certainly taste all the sweeter in this case...

But if in reality these things have usually only ever been done in interesting, unique and visionary ways by a handful of people amidst seas of others whose art seeks to do little more than shove a hand in the air and shout 'me too!!' ?

Much is said of the stereotypical, clueless outsider getting upset about dark concepts in whatever extreme music they may stumble upon, yet the voice of those hundreds/thousands in the middle who are simply bored to tears with more of the same is rarely heard and taken seriously, usually because most simply don't talk about what they don't find interesting.

I don't mind telling you that I probably fall into this category more so than the category of someone who is offended by a track talking about rape.  Of course, you don't need to care what I think, but in the interest of responding to your call for feedback: I would honestly assess whether criticism/lack of interest in your tape is due to lamentable shifts in the psyche of industrial music fans or the possibility that nobody thinks it'll be that interesting because of the hundreds upon hundreds of ostensibly identical things which precede and so obviously influence it? Perhaps by way of thought experiment you could look at page 8 of the new releases page and see how many threads you clicked on or posted in or bought product from? Maybe scan through some other threads on here which criticise other kinds of music/art/opinion/theme and see what the difference is between your case and theirs if you swap the content around?

I'm sure the answer lies somewhere in the middle of what everyone has said.  If I'm wrong, I'll look forward to the new dimension your tape adds to this already long standing debate.

There will be no new dimension nor do i need your sarcasm. That is the point. If people think that the problem here is my "keep on tradition" or whatever approach they think about, so be it. I still stand for what i did start, a combination of noise and sexual matter. Not more, not less.
To be honest, i don´t fucking care what people think who don´t like this idea or the stuff i put out with Staalwaart Records and the reason is so simple
as you did state it: there is everything out there already. If you or anybody else have enought of it, fine but dont put this pseudo intellectual shit on
me becaus i dont care.

The long out of print and excellent compilation 'Extreme Music From Women' much of which dealt with sexual themes is on youtube. Here is a piece from Frl. Tost (from Nový Svět) which I am especially fond of - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=te2p5x23y9A  - the Laura is Laura Mulvey, the feminist theorist who first came up with the notion of the male gaze.

Good luck with your project Staalwaart.

Like mentioned before, there are many reasons why people reject this theme.
However, I have my doubts about this. Lets say, who'd be the visionary ones and who merely repeat the cliche? Usually it could be summed: Whitehouse and SJ were interesting, everybody else not. Despite commenter rarely seen or heard the latter. At least not the bulk they criticize.

Over here, in Finland, we happen to be lucky spot where all sorts of stereotypical and vile noise dominates. Just about everywhere else I look, I just don't see it. Count out labels like IOPS or F&V, where is the recent "sex noise compilation" or bulk of bands that churn rape themed releases year after year? Juicy UK sex theme PE/noise from last 10 years? German PE with sexual overtones? Japanese noise what would use sexual themes? I just don't see it exists. Like all this talk about "bondage in japanese noise" and one needs to go to almost 20-30 years back to find some.

Mentioned Vice/Noisey article is dreaming that from all sorts of critical incidents against vulgar DM, hopefully there is born generation of smarter, savvier death metal musicians. One can see that there exists amusing suggestion between the lines:  smarter, savvier ways of dealing with rape. Should be interesting and creative. Of course (Death) Metal is basically stupid by definition, and traditions of post-industrial culture would allow much deeper perspective to deal with. But still: Interesting ways of dealing with rape. Yes. It seems good idea. Then one still has to decide whether that interesting needs to be feminist theorist talking about mental dominance, or would some racket with samples from VHS tape of dialogue of victims of human traffickers or description of straight forward act suffice? I'm fine with the latter.

Just recently listened 1 hour program of new directions of porn in Finland. Created by people who think porn is dull and not interesting. So they create art magazine dealing freshly with sexuality. They confess not following porn at all, nor having basically any knowledge of it at all. Like claiming movies are boring, despite you saw nothing, but someone told you plot of american pie? 20'ish female art-school graduates, so fresh and so creative.

I think there should be more open invitation comps. Or at least half open. Nobody says one has to accept all submissions. Just hope that something new could be found besides routine selection of known names. Good luck for Staalwart. I'm sure there are 50-100 people who'd be hungry for rare incident of seeing full on sex noise comp!

Mentioned Vice/Noisey article is dreaming that from all sorts of critical incidents against vulgar DM, hopefully there is born generation of smarter, savvier death metal musicians.

And, one must not forget that ALL criticisms of violent or intolerant themes in all kinds of UG music are smear tactics by Hipster / PC / feminist etc journalists who have nothing to do with the respective scenes. It's all propaganda. VICE and co just impose their stupid PC set of morals on scenes they only know from Youtube or third hand information. The argument is always the same: "oh, this is so juvenile", "this doesn't provoke anybody", "real musicians don't need those kind of shock tactics" and most of all: "this is stupid" (implying of course that they are much smarter)... It's so transparent if you know what these peoples' agenda is. I would say the same concept is found nowadays by many so-called "experimental" noise musicians who make fun of "unintellectual" PE and think only circuit bent Gameboys or whatever are real "art".

Of course, as has been said before, I can totally understand when a true PE fanatic says that he simply doesn't need the billionth tape of a band that offers nothing more than a rape-screenshot from a commercial film or a newspaper with no additional depth to the subject matter. However, I will take crudest perversion over narcicisstic pseudo-intellectualism (which usually sounds like garbage soundwise anyway) any day of the week.

And, to also contribute something to the release at hand, wishing Staalwart all the best in this!

I know the sort of thing, there is a lot of art by young women like this in the UK too, some good and some bad - but remember that they have grown up with the internet so have likely been looking at contemporary porn since childhood as have the men in their lives, and may not have an encyclopaedic knowledge of the history but feel able to offer critique of mainstream porn.

Sorry if this seems harsh, but I'm not so sure (had to edit that sentence to make sense, sorry about that). They're cutting their teeth on ideology more than indifferent historical study (yes, I know it's written by the winners and yes I know we all have our biases). "The internet" has nothing to do with it, except as some kind of imaginary barrier between "then" and "now". Anyone who thinks they can "offer a critique" on something they know is older than they are is full of shit unless they've done a bit more legwork (ahem).

Because of 70 min. limit on CD there had to be a even stricter quality control. In some special case, there was a very personal reason but aside
from that it was mainly to max quality on final compilation.

Print material will be done this month. So much fucking shit came up, i am going backwards all the time. Anyway. Project is of course not
dead but delayed as hell. Still, its a great compilation and i hope the right folks will like it for what it is.

Well... this did not work. Anyway. Have good faith. The day will come soon enought. Staalwaart Records and Phosgen Records did team up.
Print is finally in the making.

I understand that Obsessive Fundamental Realism is now taking over the distribution of the CD. But you should ask them directly.

Yeah, will be OFR and Phosgen records. All will be dealt with as soon as everything hits OFR HQ - hopefully soon. Further info then.

Thats correct. Staalwaart Records is dead for life changing reasons beyond my control. My  grateful thanks goes out to my comrades
and friends at OFR and Phosgen Records for not letting sink this great compilation into obscurity.

There is one unreleased SR tape (which is a collab of Scatmother and Fagellatio Orgasmus) which future is not deceide yet.

It exist since some time, but through   some bad constellations, its not possible to make it avaible till all problems are cleared.

I put it already on discogs as Physical  release,  but it was too early for public release. Was my fault to be too much in a hurry

Guys,

I and other people I know were already handed a copy at Tower Transmissions in Dresden. I dont doubt it exists, because I own one. Zodiac has already been more than honest about the background of this.

The current deal is that I get the pressing, send out artist copies and Phosgen's share and we take care of distribution. As soon as I have them, things will progress. That's all I can say for now. I dont doubt Staalwaart will send them out, as I have known him personally for some time and if it gets delayed, I am pretty sure it will be due to personal issues.

We didnt plan to announce this step before everything was finalised, but as it was out in the open, we commented. It may all seem weird from the outside, but I respect that Staalwaart doesnt discuss his personal life online.

I got my copy and it seems to be officially out.

OUT NOW : SEX NOISE COMPILATION CD

This may be known due to the long history of this compilation. Staalwaart Records (RIP) had this pressed and basically all ready, when unforeseen circumstances caused some delays. OFR and Phosgen Records took care of this business and the CD will be distributed by us now. All of the credit for compiling, pressing etc goes to Staalwaart! Very sleazy and perverse comp with exclusive tracks by Sick Seed, Naxal Protocol, Edge of Decay, Striations, Scatmother and many others!

Ive been 'away' for  while and have never received any artists copies, so if somebody would like to sort that out, it would be much appreciated.

You were one of two artists we couldn't trace (the other case sorted itself out). Old Staalwaart email address doesn't exist anymore and we only found Discogs page when contacting the artists. Please give me your address and your share will be sent asap.

I just revisited this gem of a compilation the other day. Scatmother delivers a proper bludgeon to the face with the track Battered! Worth it to pick up the compilation alone for this track. I Often try to pick up any compilation that Scatmother has been a part of, as in my opinion Scatmother is without a doubt one of the best PE/Noise projects of today! Also Naxal Protocol and Sick Seed come hard on this comp too. Overall images/cover everything is great!
