Title: Industrial/Noise one hit wonder classics
Post by: Thermophile on October 31, 2020, 02:16:09 PM
Post some great related albums/singles where the artist disappeared after one,two releases.
Could be also a side project of longtime act with only one release.

On top of my head:

Chazev - Katatonia

Cicciolina Holocaust - Albeit, Albeit

Korpses Katatonik ‎– Subklinikal Leukotomy Aphrenia Spasmophilik Lyssophobo Asphyxia Sinister Lethal Anorex

will post more when I remember

Some may be more "side projects", so having just couple releases may be explained with that.
Some:

Advokat Ihrer Hoheit
Victim Kennel
Stahlnez

Maybe also Hydra could quality. Just one full length tape, rest being split or compilation, and not so many of them either.

Iron Justice

I'll mention Drape Excrement and Thorofon too. Larger discographies but definitely only one 'hit' album.

Ravensbruck by Final Solution

The rest by FS is good enough but Ravensbruck is such a stand-out.

And actually the original RJF.

Slave State : What happened to that planned reissue by Dom America ? Cancelled ?
OP Rechts - Murderer Report : Finders label was about to reissue it, isnt it ? With unreleased material too. Same destiny as above ? What an idiot i had seen the LP around 30EUR on Discogs and let it fly away ...

Also this is worth mentioning : https://www.discogs.com/Possession-The-Thin-White-Arms-Obtusely-Angled-At-The-Elbow-Methodically-Dipping-And-Emerging/release/588413

Projects listed below have some pretty short discographies consisting of just 2 or 3 releases before just disappearing. Can't even really find any info on most of these outside of their releases. The short list of material they did release does hit especially hard though, very good stuff.

Deva-Loka (the mLP is incredible, pretty cheap too)
Sturmovik
Wutanes Heer
Asandre (I suppose this one is a side project)

Heard some pieces of it and it it sounds pretty good to me. Any idea why he didn't go through with it?

I would like to know too. From what i have understood Finders has stopped activities [?] , a break or an end, i dont know. Regarding this OP Rechts, i remember he had posted a picture on his Instagram of 2 [?] CDR with hand-written titles and 'master' . I am not sure if he had announced it as forthcoming, or it was just the picture, but i have my thought still clear in my mind : "I have lost all Finders releases i wanted. This, i MUST catch !" . My hope is if Finders has quited, someone else has taken the work, or to do so.

Back on topic : https://www.discogs.com/Fistfuck-Live/release/1019359 . I guess it doesnt fit 'technically' to the OP description, since it was released 25 years after ! Still ...

Finders isn't over, sub-label Packing Plant just released several tapes. There will be new stuff coming out at some point in the future- unsure if OP rechts will be included in the next group of releases or not.

Korpses Katatonik is mentioned already, but many several of the releases on Nekrophile are one hit wonders, namely "Zero Kama ‎– The Secret Eye Of L.A.Y.L.A.H." and "LAShTAL - Thoum Aesh Neith"

If it is an classic, I do not know (-; but I think the russian

Inner Depth - Horn Herlad the severity of the day on Steinklang fits here really well.

A nice mixture between old school cold death industrial and dark ambient.
A follow up would be highly appreciated.

Furthermore I would say Kristian Olssons side project[/u][/u] for me it is an classic.

Poena - Likboeden TAPE on Beläten.[/b][/b]
30 Minutes of real great ritual industrial - completely on point.
A follow up would be highly appreciated here, too.

Nah. It was, I agree, amazing, but their output around that time was mostly amazing - or excellent, at least.

What about Revolutionary Command?
Or Control Resistance "Germ Warfare"?
Diutesc "Who Killed Jesus"?
African Noise Corporation "Nelson In Sun City"
Nod
88MM

Oh, I'm sure there are many more!

I may be biased to say, but number of times Organized Resistance is mentioned among band that was hoped to do more stuff than one album.

Good mention. "Sickle Cell Acceleration" is one of the best PE songs ever made.

Released on my own label and kind of disappointed he only did one album "intimate power electronics": Verdant - Sincerity https://www.discogs.com/artist/1260594-Verdant

Also Poison Tongue - I know that dude had a ton of other projects but that was his best project/release by far https://www.discogs.com/artist/1989178-Poison-Tongue

Cowards - Forgotten Resonance - maybe one of my all time favorite ambient noise records https://www.discogs.com/artist/1826779-Cowards

Throat - one of the best projects to come out of the Red Light District house in NYC. I saw them perform twice and it was incredible but they only had a compilation appearance and that's it https://www.discogs.com/artist/1446287-Throat-2

Absolutely yes to Cowards.

Margaret told me a full length Throat was recorded and ready to be released on Weird, but then the break up happened and it never was to be.
