Looking forward to reading this.
The list of contents suggests that this issue does not have a section for reviews of recent releases?
I look forward to buying my copy from Unrest. \m/

This is true. There are couple reasons. I felt magazines like Night Science & Noise Receptor have been so review focused, and being good in what they do, that SI needed to approach other way to avoid "similarity". And even more so, magazine is like 5 years late.... so while it was possible to update interviews (which was done), reviews was better to just leave out. Some of old reviews were posted online anyway. As extended version of The Essentials, there is still plenty of coverage for releases.
Plans in to get SI #11 out in autumn / late 2018, so review section may return is magazine is again published in faster schedule.
Several distributors have had their copies mailed, or will have within couple days.
LIST IS NOT COMPLETE YET. More distributors coming, and anyone interested to grab copies of#10 (and possibly #9) get in touch! Also trades considered!

Late on the ball here, but this is very exciting (surprisingly so, even). I should receive my copy in a day or two, and am already warming up with a Koff and a quick browse of the latest few issues. I was a bit disappointed to read that the review section was gone, but it does look like the Essentials will make up for it. Also, perhaps one shouldn't base the decisions regarding Special Interest's layout and function in 2018 on the fact that I have fond memories of the review section in Degenerate.
I hope there are some writers ready to help speed up the release of the next issue.
Been going through the issue out of order, but I just read the Wince interview. Thoughtful questions and thoughtful responses! Why the fuck have I not heard more Wince material??

Same. Just came here to say thanks for introducing me to Wince, going to delve deeper into his music now.
Great issue altogether, I hope the zine continues as it is a great source of information / inspiration for me.
I bought one and it is really nice. ;)
Is the T.O.M.B. interview cut short? It ends on the interviewer asking a question (that could, if you push it, be an ending summary/"rant" from him).

The reply to question is that "diagram" / frame.
I am not finished yet, but agreed as above, Wince is great and I'm glad he got the attention. Good dude. Turman interview is great. MAAAA interview is great. GRIM is definitely an artist I will look into further I heard of it on some best of list about 3 years ago, and need to get into the back catalog. Storm Bugs, Le Syndicat, many others still need to be read, but I'm glad they're in there. Personally, in terms of quality content and engaging interviews, I think this is the best one yet so far. I like the Richard Stevenson and Kristian Olsson essentials, but when I noticed Stevenson mentioning something about "credibility" it had echoed something I'd already been thinking; Maybe it would be a good idea to have a section on "unsung heroes" or something, instead of essentials. I have stopped reading bits about the same band over and over again, but I do like the contributions there. Kristian O. has a new level of respect from me! Passionate writing!
anyone in the US still have copies?

Great stuff, wasn't really into the first few SI issues but this one is very good, congrats. Also dropping the reviews, fucking yes, good choice.
