Title: Out now on WCN: STAR - Last Vestige of Malehood CS
Post by: WCN on April 23, 2020, 12:55:25 AM
Bizarre harsh noise created with minimal set up and a most impetuous disregard for nature. Sample can be heard here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9DIAI1m6ZQ (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9DIAI1m6ZQ).

Chrome tape packaged in 15x10 cm ziplock bag with multiple inserts. Limited to 54 copies.

Only available to order to EU/Great Britain due to the Coronavirus issue.

Available in the USA through the artist and SKELETON DUST RECORDS in Dayton, OH. Trying to arrange a bit of Canadian distribution with SCREAM AND WRITHE, we'll see if it's possible...

Got mine in the post today.  Ripped it for more listening options and gave it a loud spin on my main stereo.  Enjoy it a lot.  It certainly is unusual in terms of the packaging and presentation and I really like that.  Refreshing to see baffling, odd imagery accompanying a tape of this kind.  Sonically I don't find it especially strange though; just nice, simple, perhaps mildy (MILDLY) psychedelic, harsh noise.  More might be revealed though further listening though.  I'm curious to learn whether the bizarre nature of the release is something people are hearing as well as seeing.

Structurally I do find it a pretty odd one - harsh noise into weird feedback passages and the first side ends with these crude rhythmic bleeps that sound like something off a long forgotten '80s comp of industrial & related oddities. Not a world away from S*Core actually. There's a cheap and vulgar feel to all the sounds that just works. Things end on a pretty austere note with cold feedback and a mangled voice trying to cut through. Great tape.

Glad to hear this tape is making some impressions. It is now sold out from me but should be still available from SKELETON DUST for those in the USA, and handful of copies will be on their way to SCREAM AND WRITHE on Monday.
