A legendary and recently resurrected project from the Finnish underground. Initially becoming active in 1996 and then disappearing completely by the end of the 90s, only to come back stronger than ever in 2020 with killer releases on Freak Animal, Narcolepsia and Satatuhatta.

He is also half of the duo Scrap Furnace with Jaakko Vanhala, and much like that project his solo work is straight forward, action packed, timeless Harsh Noise with building intensity as it goes -- the main difference is Moozzhead's imagery and themes, which are driven by a genuine reverence and enthusiastic celebration for the natural female body in all of it's intrinsic glory.

New York City-based Kjostad is the moniker of Stefan Aune, who is also involved in Form Hunter and Breaking the Will, in addition to running the New Forces label. Capturing highly personal sounds focusing on northern Minnesota, Aune adds layers of electronics and magnetic tape, weaving an organic tapestry of man-made and natural sonics.

Captive explores the physicality of organic sound and the productive tension that arises when it is captured via analog and digital machines. Composed in 2020 and 2021 and refined through several live performances in New York City, it translates and renders audible the solitary manipulation of wood, rock, metal and other materials.

A live tape with the Sleaford Mods which is an English music duo based in Nottingham, composed of vocalist Jason Williamson and musician Andrew Robert Lindsay Fearn since 2012. They are known for their abrasive, minimalist musical style and embittered explorations of austerity-era Britain, culture, and working class life, delivered in Williamson's thick East Midlands accent. The duo have released several albums to critical acclaim.

Recorded  live analog recording with the strongest lineup of Sony Cassette Denske TC-D5M and Sony Super Metal Master. The recording was perfectly duplicated on a Nakamichi ZX-7.
performance in Nagoya in September, in Tokyo in October, which was recorded in a different arrangement.
The artwork features a photo of S21 Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum in Cambodia taken 13 years ago.

The design is completed by overlapping three layers: a photo of S21 on the outside of the cassette case, a live photo on the tracing paper, and the LINEKRAFT symbol on the Japanese paper jacket. The design is completed by overlapping the three layers.

Turbulence is a prequel of sorts, with two twenty minute studies in smoldering noise and concretized electricity, as evinced through shortwave radio, corroded metal-on-metal, and glass being vibrating just shy of the point for shattering.

Thick, fluttering, heated rays of sound building a slow tension of rhythmic, oppressive structures. Piercing, crackling tones increase and decrease, layered with icy cold precision. Muffled segments of basspressure enters and are abruptly cut short, leaving just enough room to breathe inside the mechanical stasis.

Continuing the themes surrounding "Unproduktiw", this time set in a maritime context. A tedious reality of qualm and levitation, lodged in the borderlands between the infinite and the conclusion. A partly accidental sound diary with ties to deep water, daydreaming and the futile attempts to create contentment with life under the omen of declining years. The clutching at straws and the stillness that enters when there is no remedy.

Though occationally chaotic, this new EP is rather restrained throughout, less layered and treading a line between peculiar exploration and restful boredom. Sifting through the debris of the beach, the tactile screech of derelict bunkers and incessant waves that makes the hull creak. The distance to the abyss.

Sickness Report was released in 1996 in CD format for Release Entertainment, a sub-label of Relapse Records for ambient, noise, and experimental works, active between 1992 and 2004. The tracks on the CD were recorded a year earlier, in August 1995 and precisely on the 7th, spontaneously in an hour, like a manic raptus. It is the coldest, most cynical and loudest album of all Atrax Morgue's discography. The graphics on the CD, faithfully replicated also in the vinyl version, were made by Marco Corbelli with images taken from the volume "Tecnica delle autopsie" by Giacomo Mottura and are the perfect introduction to the sonic aggression that is coming. And the titles leave no room for imagination. It starts with Eviscaration, a powerful and hallucinatory sound that hits you like a crazy lawnmower. Then the morbid spiral continues with the songs Massive Vulval Warts and Deformed that take you to the most hidden and cramped spaces created by the brilliant mind of the Italian composer, without any opportunity for compromise: pure and glacial synthetic throbbing post-industrial sound soaked in death. The A side of the record closes with Brain Penetration, aseptic and sharp as a razor blade, which bangs you straight in the stomach. The second side of the vinyl continues to drag your mind into the perverse ecosystem created by the author, until you get to exhaustion with Slow Agony Of A Dying Organism, where the sound of a distorted synth seems to sigh the last gasps: mind stir the suggestion of the powerful, death-diluted stuff that is put into your hands.

Some time ago a colleague emailed me and informed me that an artist made a short video of herself knitting to The Rita's 'Thousands of Dead Gods.'  I watched the short video and thought it was interesting, but then also noticed that the woman had a link included on her 'Instagram' account for her sculptural works.  I looked at her work and was instantly taken by the sheer immensity and power of her structures, all exemplary of long hours of labour and provocative patterns behind the materials.  The most notable structure for me was the piece 'Untitled Form (Barrier)' which was made up of timber, bricks, mortar and a semi-dynamic use of the material chiffon to hold bricks in a hanging fashion.  The semi-opaque, stretching quality behind the white chiffon with height of almost 8 feet instantly brought to mind the focus of my past recordings that delved into the world of nylon and stocking fetishism, eventually contemplating the semi-opaque salmon pink qualities behind the tights used by classical ballerinas and the expanded practice and tradition therein.  Looking at an imposing 8'4 x 8' structure like Megan Miller's 'Untitled Form (Barrier)' and it's materials made me think that any sound made by the structure's movement of bricks against each other piled in a virtual sling of moving chiffon would be perfect for textural, abrasive sound source.  After some discussion with Megan, it was decided that a new structure would be built for a collaboration with The Rita that embraced not themes of fetishism, but expanded utilitarian themes around the use of nylon; the stockings, tights and nylon that women wore to work, what our mother's wore for warmth, comfort, and most importantly the virtual make-up of the fabric, the inherent qualities it featured.  Her eventual new outdoor sculpture was entitled 'Queen Sheets' and also made use of brick and mortar, expanding over a flat area with semi-opaque chiffon stretching over the whole of the area, covering it.  'Untitled Form (Barrier)' was also erected again in the same outdoor area, and this time the labor intensive building process of both sculptures was recorded for eventual processing by The Rita".  Sam McKinlay

Both records are impressive, inspired and near perfect examples of Mr. McKinlay brutal sonic talents. This is easily one of the highlights of this year noise releases and a high point in the The Rita discography. A must have item for HNW/Noise fans; but also a great entry point into the genre to see how one of the masters of the form performs.

Cascades of electronic noise, a psychedelic touch and vocal belching mixed together constitute the ingredients of Mademoiselle Anne Sanglante Ou Notre Nymphomanie Auréolé, the double-barreled name for Masonna. Maso Yamazaki founded his project in 1987, with a charismatic and glamorous personality who become a cult figure in "Japanoise" scene. Masonna's abundant productions on his own legendary and astonishing label Coquette were presented in very limited edition, sometime totally confidential (one sole copy), and reflect his predilection for 60's psychedelic music revisited in its own very peculiar way. He transforms his voice into noise, feeding the microphone back through a process of extreme distortion. His shouts become clipped bursts of overloaded sound, doubled and extended by a delay that displace the sounds into stuttered blasts of static.
Like a vagina is one of Maso's first recordings and was released on cassette on his home label Coquette in 1988. The original cassette is graphically provocative and contains a long track on each side. Although quite immature as recordings, we are faced with a real discovery, what will become an exceptional blast of vigor and revelation from Japan! Masonna surpassed all extremes with a full frequency violence that was as fast as it was psychedelic. Explosive few seconds of visceral feedback, fast and beautiful and focuses an electrically overcharged universe then awesome screaming create a complete audio assault. A revelation and terrific listen from start to finish, not to mention a crucial addition to the canon of Japanese noise music and its shadowy history that radically challenges and expands the terms of movement's definitions.
An absolutely amazing accomplishment for which Urashima deserve a great deal of credit, offering long overdue attention to a never before available body of work composed by one of Japanese noise's most important figures. Masonna's Like A Vagina, release in only 299 copies on black virgin vinyl, is an absolute must for seasoned noise music fans and devotes of obscure side of Japan electronic music, as well as anyone just beginning to explore this incredible realm. Skuggsidan is currently working on the following tasks:
- sending out orders. We have recently received many orders through our platform and Discogs lately, and only one person is working on this task. Thanks for your support, and I work as fast as possible. The more support we get, the more we can produce. It is worth mentioning that all our financial income goes to new releases or technical equipment that makes it possible to concretise them.
- uploading selected material from the vault to Bandcamp(not our current top priority). Skuggsidan will upload material most relevant for the moment; I also experience disturbances in the website's bandwidth.
- starting up a new side label. We are currently testing two different e-commerce systems before we decide to move forward. You can now order via https://www.skuggsidan.net and later via the new e-commerce system for analogue masters as a complement. If you have any platform requests, don't hesitate to get in touch.
- moving to new facilities. We are expected to be installed in our new facilities between 25 - January 30, 2023. After this date, everything will be even more established. Our current premises are 60 m2 and are filled with storage wares/equipment.
- trades are also not a top priority until we have fully settled into the new premises. We buy both for wholesale prices and make trades by goodwill if it suits our assortment. Unfortunately, we have high costs related to our operations, which can be challenging to understand if you do not have insight into the day-to-day operations. We also have many incoming items, and a significant update will be soon from items purchased from both trades/whole sales.

We are expected to be installed in our new facilities between 25 - January 30, 2023.
After this date, we will be on weekends, and meet-by-appointment will have an official record store when we are fully installed in the new facilities.
The landlord would suddenly demolish our former premises for residential development, which is a significant problem in larger cities. However, we have acquired new premises, and everything will be even more established.

On Monday: 23/1/23: we will open up our official homepage for a public audience. analogue masters are our side label for reissues on CD digipak, LP and, in some cases, cassettes. On Monday, we will also start to take orders for  MLEHST - PEDANTIC /PESSIMISTIC Digipak CD that was released initially as 20 lathe cuts in 1998 according to the Gregorian timeline by Peter King Records.

Last winter, in the middle of the night, I obtained an incoming call from an unidentified recipient from Ecuador. This surprised me as the quantity of those who have obtained my phone number may be reckoned with with just one hand. On the other side of the line, an anonymous voice asked if I wanted to release a cassette with him and another artist. I responded without hesitation that I could do that. The following week, I got the master tape and was once again surprised it was a split release with Mo*Te, the other participant of the actual release.
      Industria Masoquista is one of the better projects in harsh power electronics and has previously released split cassettes with well-established names such as The Haters, Macronympha and a debut release with Pain Jerk. Javier Riera, the engine behind Industria Masoquista, is no neophyte in the field. Industria Masoquista has been active in the noise/industrial scene since 1997. Javier Riera has performed alongside renowned artists such as Zbigniew Karkowski, Phroq(Francisco Meirino), Crank Surgeon, Tomas Beck, Bastard Noise, and many others. With over two decades of experience, Industria Masoquista continues to deliver powerful and immersive tracks in the realm of noise and industrial music.

INCAPACITANTS' live album, featuring carefully selected live recordings excavated from T. Mikawa's treasured archive, in a special package combining hexagonal and square boxes.

INCAPACITANTS' stunning live performances, which seem to be played chaotically with physical action, yet also sound as if they are intricately composed, are certain to galvanize both the spirits and bodies of those in the audience. This is undoubtedly one of the significant reasons they have gained global fame.
Even if structured, the combination of T. Mikawa and F. Kosakai effortlessly transcends the structure with their spectacular performances, making it truly one-of-a-kind.

Side A contains recordings of two live performances recorded at Tokyo 20000V in 2000. The performance, accompanied by intense howling and accelerated at extraordinary tension, captures the true essence of INCAPACITANTS.

Side B features live recordings from Soup in 2023, marking a long-awaited return to live performances in Tokyo after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Based on the continuous underlying refrain (I speculate this Tangerine Dream Syndicate-like sound, possibly by F. Kosakai), you can feel the weight of the noise path they have traversed, with mature noise unfolding endlessly in every direction.

To faithfully capture the full essence of these remarkable noise performances on cassette, all duplications were made using the legendary '80s cassette deck, Nakamichi ZX-7.

Frans de Waard - America's greatest noise (+flexi-bookmark)
The forthcoming book from Korm Plastics eschews the typical trappings of artist photographs, record release lists, album cover images, and footnotes. It's neither a hardcover nor printed on glossy paper, and it's not expensive. Titled 'America's Greatest Noise,' this book delves into the story of Ron Lessard, the owner of RRRecords—a record store in Lowell, Massachusetts, that also operated as a record label from 1986 to 2009. RRRecords released albums from artists like Blackhouse, F/i, PGR, the first Merzbow LP outside Japan, and many others. T. Another worth mentioning is the RRRecycled Music series, featuring over 300 releases on re-purposed cassettes.

Lessard himself performed with his group Due Process and solo as Emil Beaulieau, giving numerous concerts and releasing various cassettes, LPs, and CDs until his retirement from the noise scene in 2006. His performances, marked by a businessman persona and a unique four-armed turntable called the Minutoli, were known for their comedic flair.

In this book, Lessard recounts his musical journey, sharing the ups and downs of running a label and record store, undertaking quirky projects, dealing with unfinished ventures, meeting other musicians, touring, and more. The book includes two appendices: one featuring past interviews from fanzines and websites, and another with a chapter from Michael Tau's 'Extreme Music' on the anti-records released by RRRecords.

The first 1000 copies include an anti-flexi—created by cutting up a conversation between Ron Lessard and the book's author, Frans de Waard, about anti-records—edited by Howard Stelzer. This flexi can be used as a bookmark.

The book is a 144-page paperback with black and white images, designed by Alfred Boland.

His 1999 album, Huile Sur L'Eau ("Oil on Water"), serves as a compelling demonstration of his unique ability to manipulate specific sound sources—in this case, recordings of water—into immersive and structurally complex audio environments. This work exemplifies Aube's distinctive compositional technique, wherein he isolates a single sound source and systematically transforms it into a multifaceted audio landscape. Through this method, Nakajima's work not only highlights his technical precision but also underscores his innovative vision.
    "Huile Sur L'Eau" (française) is entirely constructed from water recordings, which are processed through various audio manipulation techniques, including modulation, delay, and reverb. These processes produce a fusion of organic and electronic sound textures that interact to form a highly structured acoustic experience. The album's minimalist framework belies its underlying complexity, as Aube layers sound with precision, creating a tightly interwoven structure that evolves throughout the recording. The aquatic theme forms the basis for the album's auidial development, with sound patterns gradually transitioning from fluid to so movements to more complex, dense structures. These transitions are a creation to reflect the dynamic physical properties of water, such as its capacity to flow, oscillate, and change states. The initial moments of the album generate a sense of stability through smooth, consistent water sounds, but as the album progresses, Aube introduces more experiemental textures, signaling a shift towards increasing entropy. This deliberate manipulation of acoustic elements mirrors the unpredictable behaviuor of water and its potential for turbulence.

We're excited to present a unique CD box set featuring live recordings from performances by Augmented Atrocity, Rotat, Umpio, Sadio, and Bizarre Uproar. Despite these artists' undeniable impact, it's striking how little attention the releases on Harsh Ways Syndicate have received. Like their earlier release this year on Harsh Ways Syndicate, this particular box set has been met with near silence across the usual channels.

Sometimes, I wonder:

- Is music merely a popularity contest, or are people genuinely more interested in exploring sound itself?
I firmly place myself in the second category. Music isn't about algorithms, trending artists, or what garners the most streams. It's about the raw and unfiltered experience of sound. This box set serves as a reminder that year-end "releases of the year" lists often fail to adequately capture the true breadth of the experimental scene. These lists tend to reflect what garners the most rotation rather than offering a comprehensive overview of the genre.

Collaboration cassette by T.Mikawa and Tentenko's unit MikaTen. The synergy between Tentenko's rhythms, which combine great taste and playfulness, and T.Mikawa's tremendous noise is outstanding, and by experiencing the two different live performances on sides A and B, you will realize that MikaTen is at the pinnacle of rhythmic noise.
