Any recommendations for bands that fuse noise into a more "musical" context?
Keen to find things outside of metal / hardcore that do this as well.
some notable ones for me, including my own:
basque - Pain Without Hope Of Healing
Karloff - Karloff
Negative Sun - MENTICIDE
Obroa-Skai - Science Progresses One Funeral at a Time
Portrayal of Guilt / Street Sects - split
Full Of Hell - Rudiments of Mutilation
clipping. - Visions of Bodies Being Burned
Violent Magic Orchestra - Death Rave
Malevich - Our Hollow
The Locust, Knoll and Dragged Into Sunlight are by far the best (imo) that utilize it. DIS especially so.
Boris had a full noise set-up as part of the band when I saw their last US tour.
Esplendor Geometrico

That would be my list as well. Early Ant-Zen and Hands (label) is where you want to look. Imminent Starvation and Iszoloscope are a couple others. There's A LOT to explore with these two labels. But depending on how strict you are, you could even check out things like Muslimgauze - Iran and his 1988-1994 era.
Ride for Revenge.

Indeed! One of the best examples of this sort of crossover that comes to mind and an even more specific example of this would be the RFR/RXAXPXE split to showcase that notion even clearer.
Try Boy Harsher if you're looking for something outside of metal. Earlier works especially. Darkwave with some added harshness.
The Body have the best track record with this, in my opinion. Christs, Redeemers is a record where they worked heavily with Scott from Work/Death to great success.

Boy Harsher is great minimal synthwave/darkwave stuff. Definitely agree with you about the earlier material. The first album Yr Body Is Nothing is great and has very dystopian atmosphere to it.

Yes. Gnaw Their Tongues is another example of this.
Anne Gillis combines noise and musique concrète with "minimal" synth music well.

They have consistently been one of my favorite live acts, but for some reason I can't get into their records

I understand, as I have largely tapped out of their records at this point. This one holds up still though; perhaps the apex of their creativity on a non-collaborative front.
- Cloud Rat - their 'new' drummer ran the Starved Relations label and does some noise stuff live and on some tracks
- Xiu Xiu
- Transient did a Bastard Noise collab a while ago which is cool
- Nihill, black metal from The Netherlands (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvffka7AUts)
- Pig Destroyer
A l t a r a g e.
Okay, admit, never heard the project, but,
like,
I recently got volume 3 of John Zorn's Bagatelles, which is performed in this instance by a guitar/bass/drum trio called Trigger. It's very good, and I would highly recommend it. Their interpretation of Zorn's compositions is grounded in punk, metal, and jazz, but many of the tracks also incorporate some great and evocative noise freak-outs.

The Discogs page associated with the group seems pretty sparse in info, besides listing two other releases. If anyone knows of stand-out releases featuring these guys, I would be very interested to hear about it!
Recently picked up 細菌戰 (Biological Warefare) - Maximum Deformed Humanity CD version that was recently released by Darker Than Black. I think it was previously released on LP by Werewolf Records, but anyways it's a pretty good mix of noise and bits of extreme metal or war metal as some might call it, it's definitely something that's more so in that crossover lane again. I think anyone who's into Ride For Revenge or Chaos Cascade might enjoy them a lot.

I'd say
Pull (2019) is the one to get, it's most like the Bagatelles performance.

Finally biological warfare is mentioned. I think they are often overlooked within War Metal/Warnoise scene. But their output is really very impressive, I've owned "Maximum Deformed Humanity" for a while now and compared to the second album "Embers Of Butchery" it's a lot noisier and more chaotic, while on the second album the grooves and rhythms stand out more clearly. Their demo material and the many splits they have released are also worth mentioning, whereas the music of the split partners is also often quite good. Their splits with Xenophosemen, Xuurganuth and Audduekhon Ausswad as well as their first two demos "Butchery.Revenge.Carnage" and Neo-Parasitic Age" are worth checking out if you are into that crossover of War Metal/Noise you already mentioned. I support the comparison with Chaos Cascade!

Cool stuff, not very far from old Tetragrammicide material https://tetragrammacide.bandcamp.com/album/tetragrammacidal-oration
Not sure if it fits well here, besides Controlled Bleeding has totally harsh noise albuns (Knees and Bones, for example), we can find many "noise parts"in the other "regular"records of them. Actually this band has albuns dealing with some many different genres, that is not easy to put them in a specific category.
I also need to mention Dalek and Death Grips.
Shit & Shine, USA/Mexico and other related bands.
Returning to this thread & seeing that there has yet to be a mention of any Aaron Turner projects in here. In my opinion, ISIS & Old Man Gloom used noise pretty tastefully in their works. If I am not mistaken, Jay Randall was actually in an early lineup of the former where he just did noise. It was pretty nasty.
And now that I mentioned Jay Randall, I remember the Agoraphobic Nosebleed remix CD that came with PCP Torpedo was crucial in my developing noise interests. It's been a while since I have listened to it though.
somewhat related, from the other side of the coin: the new primitive man remix album thats coming out soon via industrial coast.
https://industrialcoast.bandcamp.com/album/deconstructed-reconstructed-primitive-man
pretty interesting from the tracks already available.
They've been brought up in related discussions on this forum before, but the remix albums by noise rock band Throat come to mind:
https://ihatethroat.bandcamp.com/album/bareback-stripped-remasked
https://ihatethroat.bandcamp.com/album/the-hospice-remixes
Relatedly, industrial (metal) band Bunsen that crosses over to plain harsh noise at times:
https://kaoskontrol.bandcamp.com/album/burner
Pain Appendix collaborating live with black/death metal band Human Agony:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txLF489Cejg
Not sure how close this is to music to begin with, but the Finnish noisecore/noisegrind band Death Basket sometimes fuses plain harsh noise into what they do, such as on the closing track of this tape:
https://bentwindowrecords.bandcamp.com/album/none-in-this-world-is-safe-from-harm
And one more with more plain experimental oddness fused in:
https://deathbasket.bandcamp.com/album/jazz-basket-live-at-kirjakahvila
Slightly off topic, BUT Finnish hc band Attack The Enemy's second tape is d-beat on side A, and harsh noise on side B:
