Post by: IanDB on February 15, 2012, 08:14:47 PM
cheers all, had a brief chat with William regarding various aspects of the new project, also touched upon power electronics.  i know some on this board are unenthusiastic about Cut Hands, but take a look and see what you think. thanks! - Ian

Interesting article. Saw Cut Hands live and thought that it will be somehow better than the album. I like the "Afro Noise" concept, but somehow it don t click this time. Maybe with some next album. All i can say there is many other more interesting projects.

The link is screwed but I think this is still the perfect place to voice my complete dissatisfaction with said project. I can't think of anything worse than polyrhythmic tribal drums. Feels like the sort of music reading a sign at the zoo should be accompanied by.
The direction Kevin and Phillip went in is much more to my liking but I'm getting more and more pissed off at all the melody that's crept into SJ's work

not defending these elders, but given that  your tastes in music end in 'core' you are not best placed to comment.

qed-latin for quod erat demonstratum, ie that which was demonstrated.

-this relates to your 'core' response, which validates my qed response.

I'm not a pleb qed.

And it hadn't been demonstarted either; you made it sound as though I like metalcore or something.

I'm not disappointed that they didn't give me something to buy, I've just always had it in my head that I really don't like this pish that Bennet is putting out I hate tribal drums!! And as for SJ I like about half the tracks on any given album at this point.
Of course it's a good thing when people break new ground creatively but it's annoying when they don't do it in a way that pleases you.
Basically my point now is that I wasn't whining.

Demonstrably untrue.

... you might be right I just said that I hate tribal drums to myself and it sure sounded whiney.

I would love to hate tribal drums, but overall I believe I like them. Does this mean I should check out Cut Hands?

Give 'em a go. Could well help you in hating tribal drums at last.
