Couldn't find any thread on Radigue in the forum. French electronic music composer, mainly working with the renowned ARP 2500 modular system and tape.

Ubuweb has quite the library on her. Check out the following link below. Here you will find a short introduction to Radigue, as well as numerous albums free to dwnlwd and one or two documentaries.

Adnos I-III is a big investment, but it is well worth the time.

Evolves and adds as it takes on the characteristics of each of these:
CD1:  Thomas Koner, JLIAT, Tuu.

Evolves and moves through distinct phases taking on characteristic of these:
CD2:  Palestine, Bad Sector, Ryoji Ikeda, Koner, Inade/power-electronic-esque slow throbbing, Jonathan Coleclough, Mem.

CD3:  got lost and forgot to take notes.

Became a personal favourite after only just discovering her work last year, via "Trilogie De La Morte". The blatant purity and minimal smoothness of the drones appealed immediately. It's been one of those odd personal situations where since finding out about her through one of her longest works I seem to notice her name more and more, whereas before I had never heard of her. I always look forward to hearing more of her sound.

I think someone ought to compile a list of composers who've produced work based on the Tibetan Book Of The Dead...

Though the best part of these threads is the random "related" suggestions you hit just plugging the names, in this case Eliane Radigue, into YouTube:

Daphne Oram - Dr Faustus Suite
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vt5g2K2YjJw

Andrea Parker & Daz Quale - Daphne Oram's Private Dreams And Public Nightmares Remixed
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3gQGL4Y0zE

Christina Kubisch - The Cat's Dream
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YpHPVVdFCw&feature=related

Duppi - Velvet Night
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAs21tWA-gk&feature=plcp

...and on and on and on.

EDIT I should add that while it's often ear-opening to go onto ubu or whatever and do one's own research,  getting everyone's take on this shit is, as stated elsewhere, what makes these forums worthwhile.

......maybe someone should start an epic "Geezers" thread, into which we all may dip and comment as urges dictate. Maybe even a "Geezers" forum...

Thanx for the links will def check it out. Just saw there is a thread called, Musique Concrete / Electro-Acoustic & other.... Will post other/related matter there from now on, as to not fill up the menu and prove it a jungle in overview. Listening to Christina Kubisch. Seems tape generated, with a bit of synth on first listening. Maybe as well some field recordings spewn in? Thematic and fragmented. Can dig it. Haven't come across her earlier. High pitched and lyrical. Very nice.

Found this with Kubisch. Glitchy and minimal.

"Trilogie De La Morte"
that's a definite desert island pick for me. second cd in particular is mindblowing. there's a great eliane radigue thread over on ihatemusic ... http://ihatemusic.noquam.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3617 ... particularly dan warburton's piece on her for the wire posted on the first page (disclaimer: i'm no fan of the wire but dan warburton is one of the few great writers there). did anyone here pick up the eliane radigue/pauline oliveros/yoshi wada/sun circle lp set on important last year? i slept on it but regret it now

Alga Marghen put out Eliane's feedback works on a fantastic 2xLP-release this summer - some people here might already be aware.

Just think this release may need some more promotion...

I believe Stress-Osaka (1970), Usral (1969) & Omnht (1970) hadn't been released before.

Thanx! Forgot about this one. Observed this release a while back, though haven't gotten around to buying it yet. Think it holds promise though. Found this link on Soundohm. Contains a brief description of the release and audio samples. Audio excerpts are true beauty.

Morning Concert: Interview with Eliane Radigue (December 11, 1980).

online stream via internet archive.

This edition of The Morning Concert features Parisian composer Eliane Radigue. Host Charles Amirkhanian explores Radigue's background as a student of Pierre Schaeffer and Pierre Henry, her compositional technique involving synthesizers and tape recorders, and her life as a composer and Tibetan Buddhist. Radigue discusses the compositional and performing processes involved in her "combinatory" music, and explains how she has adapted to the lack of acceptance of her music in Paris. Radigue performs two pieces live in the studio: Chry-ptus and Triptych. This radio performance constitutes the world premiere of the first and third movements of Triptych.

This just came out on Oral-Records in Canada.

PSI 847

2 X CD + Booklet in specially designed package

According to their website:

PSI 847 was her breakthrough piece - for the first time her musical conception was closely matched in execution over 80 minutes of sustained, gentle sound.

Ordered it the other day. I wonder what "specially designed package" means in this case. Anyone who have it and can tell?

Missed this thread apparently!  I've only got the Trilogie de la Mort (as everyone else does), but it's brilliant!  Anyone have DL links for any other work?

12 year bump!

Adnos 1-3 is such a wonderful thing. I have the 3CD (imprec). There's a lovely / informative booklet included in this beautifully designed package...(for those who enjoy such physical things.)

As noted earlier in this thread, the 3 drones/works are distinct from each other, and each slowly meanders.

Fantastic! One of my all-time fav CD releases.

Edit: Of course, there is this recent box set:

Edit again: And she is still kicking, at 93.
