Title: DENNIS COOPER
Post by: THE SKIN on July 26, 2012, 09:33:36 PM
I do not see topics about Denis Cooper

Brilliant writer worth reading just for Sluts.
All of his production, oriented directly on homosexual perversion, is a  true desert of moral.

I buy every new Dennis Cooper book as it appears, have done since the 90s.

Favourites are Try, Guide, Period, My Loose Thread and The Sluts. Period is as creepy as fuck, a ghostly skeleton of a book. Amazing writing in there. I also love the Horror Hospital graphic novel collaboration thing he did.

As for him being a 'typical old queen' in real life, well hell he is a human being not one of the psychos he writes about. Never met him or spoke to him myself but he seems extremely nice about dealing with his fans on his blog.

read and liked THE SLUTS, FRISK, UGLY MAN, but never ventured in to anything else. i also have his early collection of poetry, DREAM POLICE, which was really good too. wish i could have gotten my hands on THE WEAKLINGS, but it was insanely limited.
