completely unnecessary.

mid life crisis
Not bothered either way about who joins; bought the first album, tried to like it before admitting defeat and accepting it was terrible.
never even liked anything Blake was in, be it Twilight or Nachtmystium.
I prefer my black metal raw, free of outside influences. and those several Ross Bay endorsed bands, Black Witchery, Burial Hordes, Inquisition, Blasphemy, etc.
Second album sounded like a mix of Isis and Leviathan. Will Sonic Youth be added to this heap now? Not crap, but not worth my time. Much better than what of later Nachtmystium I've heard though. Whatever. The gentrification of black metal isn't exactly a new thing so...
A couple of days ago I listened to Nachtmystium's Demise album again, had been a while, and that is a very good and raw black metal album. However, after that I didn't follow Nachtmystium anymore.
And while I'm not against trying new things in BM, this whole Twilight bunch comes off as being a bit forced at least. Though I must admit, I've never listened to it.
Also, got a couple of Sonic Youth CDs (won them in a kind of lottery), but I can't really get into it. Maybe I should give it another listen and decide whether I actually want to keep them or get rid of them.
i take it this "supergroup" digs teen vampire romance

I'd much rather listen to Sonic Youth than Twilight, were a "grower" for me but got there in the end.
