Title: MIDI controllers
Post by: martialgodmask on December 31, 2012, 05:39:44 PM
I've been looking at the Akai MPK Mini (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Akai-MPK-mini-MPKmini-controller/dp/B00466HM28/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1356968144&sr=8-1) for my first controller - gets written up pretty well and have watched a number of videos that almost have me convinced, but I just wondered if there are any other controllers that anyone could recommend for around this price?

seems pretty decent for a first midi controller, im just getting into using the midi function on my synths (Alesis Micron/Casio CZ-1000) and drum machine (akai xr20) as well. what will you be using the midi controller for?

i am not really up to date concerning controllers, but i highly recommend an "intelligent" one, which synchronizes with the application, such as NOVATION SL http://us.novationmusic.com/midi-controllers/sl-mkii?rd=1

I'm looking for something that does sync (which I believe the Akai does) with the purpose initially of controlling virtual instruments and triggering samples, with a reasonable array of knobs and functionality.
