Title: Halthan appreciation
Post by: jesusfaggotchrist on October 21, 2013, 01:58:11 AM
I came this guy(s) and it gives me the impression  of old Slogun and The Grey Wolves. Any fans here?

I've got quite a few of his releases, they are all pretty good, his last album on F&V I think is great.

big fan & friend, I like everything, but I think his latest work on F&V and tape on Nil By mouth are classics

Quite liked the tape on Nil By Mouth and the album too, though the album took a couple spins since it's quite different. Also have a 3"CDr on L.White and a CDr on Nil By Mouth which I remember to be quite nice too, the split with Brandkommando was less interesting.

I firmly believe that Halthan could be much more than what it has been so far.
Said it many times, but will say it until he gets the aggression of live situation & dirtiness of guitar amplifier boosted sound combined to his style of home recording, which tends to be software-synth compositions that has more layering & complexity and more diverse vocal effects?
Album on F&V was good move towards the dirty sound, but perhaps couple steps too much to lose the original Halthan sound.  All the elements are there, just carefully considered recording conditions for next album!
