Title: Strafe Für Rebellion
Post by: bogskaggmannen on May 30, 2010, 11:28:07 PM
Anyone could care to comment on this older German (or Austrian?) group?

I have never heard them, so I don't really know what to expect.

Just vague memories of Roger/CMI stocking the "Moor" CD in the mid-90's - they seem to have been more active in the 80's though.

Very hard band to describe. I saw on Mutant Sound blog that they were described as a poppy NWW or HNAS but I don't really do them them justices. Sometimes you get a postpunk feel and then very NWWish vibe and then classic.
I think that every Strafe Für recording that I have is an adventure. Anything can happen and the records usually vary from brilliant to really bad but somehow it works. Touch put together a compilation CD called Vogel which the best place to start.

I have not heard absolutely everything by SFR, but IMO the Lufthunger CD is there best release.  Very well composed, very disorienting.
