Finnish TV showed some footage of.. was it LaLaLa festival earlier this year. Don't remember where the link was.
Now in NEO program at national tv channel some footage of Bizarre Uproar, Häkki (Vanhala + Dassum), Ride For Revenge, etc. starting from 1 minute. Then some stuff of experimental computer games, performance art and followed by piece about Russian ritual ambient and neo folk (starts from c. 12:30), festuring Svartsinn, Lamia Vox, Anemone Tube, Deutsch Nepal,.. !

Interesting. Is it a shock for noise to be included in coverage of pop culture in Finland?
I'm curious to know if anything similar has happened in the US.
Also, I translated the web page and of course it was a very rough translation, but it said something about gay culture embracing noise?? Is that what that little exposé was about?
The guy (Jussi Mankkinen) was very enthusiastic about the projects and festival, and I must say, he did a good job with preparing the interviews (which for my taste was conducted a bit too late, since i was already totally drunk at that time, but Peter DN even more ...) and editing of the video. I had a decent chat with him for a while about industrial scene related things and his NEO TV programme (he wondered, if his chef would censor his show, which he manages completely by himself, ha, ha ...). He even considered to come to the Epicurean Escapism event next Spring in Berlin. So let`s see, what comes of this ...
Sutcliffe Jugend footage of first 'Live Action' in London in 2005 (or was it 2006?) and interview on Sky programme Redemption TV. I'm surprised it hasn't turned up on youtube already, or maybe it did and got removed? Eitherway, I've got it on DVD and keep on meaning to put it up myself.

Hijokaidan + C.C.C.C. live on an italian music show in 1997. The video is no longer available on youtube though
About a year ago there was also a short feature from Bristol's Schimpfluch festival in Neo. Too bad it is no more online. It was Jussi Mankkinen, the Neo presenter, who also interviewed Pain Jerk for the Finnish main news in 2007.
"this is a segment on japanese noise artist Masonna as presented by Thurston Moore on MTV's 120 Minutes back in 1994.
Recorded on VHS at the time it aired, so the quality is horrible. But the thought of MTV ever showing anything like this again is pretty much unthinkable."

I recall that was in (somewhat less bureaucratic) ATV. Fairly long interview with Erkki Pirtola. Pirtola had quite a few interesting features in his show back in the day.
Not sure if these fits in the thread but good old stuff from VHS:

Shame that PS wasn't interviewed...
Jussi also covered the Crater Lake Festival I arrange here in the UK. Sadly the clip is no longer online so if anyone has it please let me know.
Here in Sweden there's this public access network of non-profit community TV stations called Öppna Kanalen (The Open Channel). Back in the mid-90's Mikael Stavöstrand, who at the time was doing Inanna after having fallen out with his mate in Archon Satani, worked part time at one of these stations. I joined him in the studio on some occasions and those were good times. I remember broadcasting stuff by Sleep Chamber and live aktions by Whitehouse. We also filmed the Anenzephalia concert in Borås -96 that was released by CMI imprint Death Factory some years later, and it also went out over this network. Unfortunately non of this was saved for posterity.

Nice report from Rakvere and Helsinki! I doubt that the program went for shock effect: I had a short conversation with the interviewer backstage in Rakvere and the guys had a geniune interest in the music they cover.

Paluu 80-luvulle
5 pv jäljellä
Jakso 5/6
Kesto: 51 min
Osa 5/6: Gootit ja black metal. Hauska, nostalginen, perusteellinen ja puistattavakin syväsukellus 1980-luvun musiikki-ilmiöihin. (Welcome to the 80's, 2009)
Unlike the name says, it's not really THAT much about goths & black metal. Actually only "BM" content is couple minutes about celtic frost. Gothic stuff is there, but this episode also includes Throbbing Gristle, SPK, E.Neubauten, Cabaret Voltaire, etc. Nothing too fancy or informative, but to see stuff líke live bits of "Discipline" or live metal junk beating of SPK on national television, it's ok for me!
Mikawa posted this on the LAFMS Facebook page. Otomo Yoshide's "Core Anode," featuring Jojo, Mikawa, Seiichi Yamamoto, Sachiko M, and three drummers, on Japanese station NHK. Great production value, good and loud.
