Title: Nuclear Assault
Post by: pentd on August 04, 2015, 09:53:06 AM
not experimental / noise / filth but:

reporting that Nuclear Assault played on sat.1.aug in my ex-hometown pori at a park festival... (how times have changed, never would this have been possible in "my time")

total killer! if y'all out there in europe get the chance to see them on this (supposedly) last tour then do it

no bullshit delivering their fastcore metal, short pauses between tracks, fukin hit parade. ei leikkiny!! not posin!!

Spinned Handle with Care just a few days ago. Bought the LP at the age of eleven or so, and still enjoying it immensely. Great sound, especially the bass.

I'm a Game Over type.  That's the shit.  After that, they could write some incredible riffs and parts, but they couldn't really string together ideas and write solid songs.  Of course, a few exceptions, but to me, their MO was messy songwriting.  All these parts thrown together.  Nothing as atrocious as Mustaine, but sort of in that same vein.  A much smaller gripe was that they almost always had Connelly too high in the mix, as if he was screaming over the music rather than with the music.  Making it sound like I didn't and don't like them.  I liked them quite a bit, but I also thought they had some issues that needed correcting and that never were.

Acquired this gem recently:

"Live album recorded off the desk at CBGB's in 1986. This recording is from drummer Glenn Evans personal archive which he has mixed & mastered to a very high standard. This 10 track recording pre-dates the release of their debut album 'Game Over' & includes two songs that were never recorded before, either on a demo, LP or as B sides."

i recently saw a cd version of game over and i found it sacrilegious that they "corrected" the spelling of "after the holocost" as seen on the vinyl version..

At least in the old Under One Flag CD of Game Over/The Plague has on the back cover "After the Holocost" and in the CD itself as "After the Holocaust". :)
