Title: Forum glitches
Post by: Peterson on September 29, 2016, 09:22:05 PM
Not sure how to phrase this, being that I'm not very computer-savvy, but is anyone else getting an error message when trying to reply to emails?

Says something like "last posting from your IP address was less than 45 seconds ago, please try again later." However, this is definitely not the case, as I'd logged in to reply to an old message, hadn't posted once this login session. I'd definitely like to reply to these!

This happens to me every single time. I now just log in and wait a while before replying to anything.

I have never had, and it is very rare case I hear it from people.
Forum software is up-to-date. I do the maintenance rather often, and no error reports, beyond people just trying to log in with incorrect passwords all the time.

However, knowing vast variety of browsers, computer systems, connection types, cookie settings, etc, I'm sure free forum software that's rather old (compared to swiftly changing nature of equipment), is bound to have some glitches once in a while with someone.

There have been odd changes, such as system how new members are being approved. Old one was much better, but the new system often results that people get approved roughly once a week when I remember to do it.

This is the one I'm getting trying to send a pm:

"Access forbidden!

You don't have permission to access the requested object. It is either read-protected or not readable by the server.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.
Error 403

You received my mail saying the member you try to PM, doesn't exists. So most likely left the forum and deleted account. You can see it if status is... "guest" (I recall).

According to moderators tools, there are no errors in the forum software. All has been fixed and updated.
What I see from error log is that A LOT of people put wrong passwords, all the time. That's almost only thing what appears in error-log reports.
