Some wiseass is selling a copy of the bootleg Forward release which Jarrod/Mazurka put out against my wishes, even after I told him to knock it off. He gave me a sarcastic response and changed the price to $100, adding some kind of "social benefit special edition" bullshit to the description, presumably to be a cunt....how can I get this clown to cease and desist? Anyone else had issues like this?

Is it on ebay?  I think you can file a complaint and they sometimes pull listings. I know a friend has done this with an unofficial release of early demo work of his. It might be difficult as it does have the appearance of being official. What are the circumstances where Mazurka would release without permission?

The guy selling it is not the original bootlegger right? I am then assuming it is someone who purchased it and is now reselling it. Although it no doubt irks you that the bootleg exists in the first place, I don't think you have much ability, or even any sort of actual rights, to seek to prevent someone from reselling. Just my thoughts.

clearly scummy people need boundaries.
many releases are very limited.
allowing local ' ie country/continent supply/distro may be a  real/ answer, but as exists is nothing.

It seems this is just a few random leftover copies thrown together in a box.. Nothing i would ever spend my money on but understandable from the labels point of view if these records were just laying around. Main problem seems to be the lack of communication with the artists involved.

Getting some random releases together in a "pack" to make them more appealing is one thing. But making this Box Set with random stuff, not connected in anyway, looking like a release on it's own, is a bit strange I must say.

He definitely has the right to prohibit it, but it might be hard to enforce that right without legal assistance, which will cost you. So I guess it comes down to how much a matter of a principle this is for you.

Unless you kill the guy or threaten with legal action, you can't stop him. But is that really worth your time and energy ?
