Title: first/early non-standard audio release packaging?
Post by: zipzerozilch on March 25, 2018, 07:35:09 AM
I'm very curious about when non-standard releases started being a thing. I tried to mentally dig recently and couldn't think of anything past early 90s. I'm thinking of releases that interfered with normal casing for cassette or vinyls, and/or included extra elements, including texture and smell. for example, Smell & Quim "Cosmic Bondage" or Taint "Indecent Liberties", both released in 1995.

Collectively digging for all of your examples. Please indulge, I'm so eager to hear.

There is this old topic of special packaged stuff. Too bad so much of picture links no longer work!
