Hi!
This artist fascinates me, recurring themes seem to be shark attacks, nylon tights, feet and ballet.
I'm not really into the HNW stuff I've heard, I find that boring to be honest.
Can anyone recommend some good albums or singles to check out?
I see Urashima just released another 4 CD box by him 'The Nylons Of Laura Antonelli' (I have Atrax Morgue red and black boxes and the Masonna one too) which is all sounds made from contact mics rubbing against tights! What a great concept and super-slick packaging!
Also, any idea what the name's about? 'The Rita'?
Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

also love the rita, one of the best projects monotonous and massive harsh noise. guess my favourites are... bodies bear traces of carnal violence, just a great, heavy 00s-style harsh noise album, great... thousand of dead gods is also very good, the first release that really solidified the shark theme, i guess? and the one i personally like the best, the voyage of the decima m.a.s. - made with snorkeling-sounds - i like the ballet/nylon-inspired stuff too..

This topic should be merged with the old "The Rita" thread.

pfffff hahaha . that scares me
The Lilac Fairy and Raymonda would be my favourite, both of whom are very similar to the other. They include rich texture and gradual development of sound which, due to the monotonous nature of HNW, become almost melodic in the swirling chaos.
The Rita has a few styles and the abovementioned is to me the most interesting style. Yet sometimes I just want to here the someone "bring the crunch" and nothing else. Some of the Ritas material may serve that purpose as a minimalistic, minor to no development, kind of a monotonous hnw. I'm thinking about stuff such as the Rita/Alo girl split which is just simplistic as hell, with nothing else than focus on pure and heavy sound.
But like with many artists in this genre, the catalog is too extensive
Recently pulled out the Drowning Witches collaboration with Blue Sabbath Black Cheer for the first time in years and damn, it's a great murky underwater harsh noise endeavour.
The collaboration with Wilt, Werewolf in the Black Space is another one I often go back to.
I assume Lake Shark HN is Sam's label. Just bought the Gabi Losoncy CD. I doubt it's going to be harsh noise. We'll see... Either way, intriguing label and project.
My dwindling copies of The Rita - Magazine 2xLP reissue are available here: https://newforces.bigcartel.com/
Sam should still have plenty of his artist copies as well.
tbh one of my favourite things sam has ever done is the black gloves and razors dvd
