I hope that fanatics whom attended the fest will write up reports of the evening for us mortals that didn't make it. Keep up the good work!
So, my first visit to Kontti. Perfect Industrial / Noise venue! Definitely far from big, but definitely large enough to harbour most guests.
Ride for Revenge: Highly enjoyable old school set with all the beloved trademarks. BlackGoat delivered astoundingly ripping and dedicated vocals.
Vapaudenristi: Great music with even better atmosphere. Tracks work even better in live situation, in my opinion. Especially "Wotanin Pedot" and the last track (if I am not mistaken) were noticeably smashing.
Young Hustlers: MUCH better than in Dresden. Not that the debut would have been bad or anything, but this was just way more menacing and brutal. Vocal FX blended nicely with synth, by the way.
Kristian Olsson: Didnt catch too much of the indoor set, just listened from outside and the neighbouring Kontti. Sounded very nice, though. Deep, ritualistic stuff.
ZSS: Punishing and heavy - absolutely neat. Just as dictatorial and offensive as one would expect. The tracks worked perfectly live, very close to studio but still with that live charm.
All in all, great night! I can definitely recommend a trip to Finland to anyone - Kontti is definitely well worth it and it's not hard to find everything, find an accomodation and stuff like that.
