I think 300-400 people died in that Factory collapse, not 2

My guess is that statement refers to the photo, not the overall situation.

People here will continue to ignore things like this for the convenience of their clothes buying no matter how many people die or are continually revealed to work in completely absurd conditions.

What about the  Bangladesh government? Is it not their responsibility to pass regulations to ensure buildings are up to code & workers are in working in safe conditions?

What the hell is the story on the whale?!? I thought I was going to see an explosion!

Apologies for the cock tease Bitewerks. No video available. Though the reading (at least via ggl translator) will prove entertainment. The whale, 18 meter long, was towed out to the great ocean, then blown to smithereens. If you check the bottom pix you can see the stomach (internal) sticking out of its mouth, probably overblown with gas. Apparently it was punctuated when the whale was washed ashore. The top pix seems to be from the towing towards the sea. This reminds me.. when I was a kid a huge whale floated up on a neighbor beach. Think this was before my schoolyears. Anyway.. remember we used to bike out there - this was the summer - and climb on top of it so e could run on it and jump like on trampolines.

Re. Bangladesh. I presume the government in Bangladesh as other countries have laws regulating the building sector. But as many other countries they also have contractors and real estate owners that are willing to cut corners for profit, as well as being a country where corruption is an issue. Remember there was a similar issue in Italy some years ago, though during/after an earthquake I believe. A lot of houses went to shambles due to trixing with building materials to earn more cash. What on earth was the name of this town again. Was during Berlo's reign. Help me out folks ...

The collapse in Italy- was it during a wedding or something?

nope, that happened in Israel!
there were videos of people dancing and then disappearing in the mess

there have been many collapses in the past years in Italy... either shitty building built illegally in places where thery were not supposed to be, or massive earthquakes (like l'aquila) that was quite sad indeed and the town has been left as it was since years now....

Not that I know the band Graves At Sea, but this statement from Killtown Bookings (who organise amongst others the Kill-Town Death fest in Denmark) is interesting.

QuoteStatement from Killtown Bookings concerning the cancellation of GRAVES AT SEA at "Alerta Antifascista Death Fest" in Hannover:

After over a week of attempting to communicate with the promoter from "Alerta Antifascista Death Fest" and trying to work out a resolution to his concerns about a band member pictured (in 2005) wearing a shirt of the band "Nachtmystium"; It has today come to an unfortunate and drastic cancellation and public slandering of Graves at Sea.

We are shocked by this, and extremely upset about the way this has been handled! The promoter writes in his statement that Graves at Sea "... obviously support or like NSBM Bands". What the fuck?!?!?!? Where does this guy get his information, and who the fuck does he think he is making such unfounded and baseless accusations? On top of which, making them public?!

We have been trying to have constructive dialogue with this guy, but without any luck what so ever. The promoter asked for statements from the band and management, which were readily and willingly provided. After having received said statements from both parties, denouncing being a political band nor having any sympathies for rightwing or NSBM bands – He refuses to acknowledge this, or use those statements in the formation of his opinion. We cannot comprehend the absurdity of his accusations and his terribly unprofessional handling of this matter! It deeply offends and shocks us.

The fact that he chose to cancel 1 day before the band arrives in Europe, shows his complete lack of research into this matter. This is the first European Graves at Sea tour ever and after months and months of planning, it is clear that the promoter could have looked into the band´s lyrics, covers, record label etc. But apparently, a t-shirt found on an 8 year old photo was enough for this so called "1000% anti-fascist".

*Killtown Bookings does not work with fascist bands, or any bands affiliating with the rightwing in any way! We can 100% vouch for Graves at Sea, and we want to strongly underline that the members of this band are NOT fascist in any way.*

With the release of this statement, we are hoping to aid in the dismantling of the ridiculous accusations placed upon Graves At Sea by this promoter. We would like to encourage people to continue to support this band on their forthcoming European tour, and not to be persuaded by unfounded propaganda spit forth by this individual.

There's no end to PC faggotry and I think the next step is boycotting any band with members wearing a Graves at Sea t-shirt, hahaha!

This is very normal situation around europe, I think?
I recall great story of band who did release on my friends label. Some organizers voiced concern because the band is associated with person, who knows me! And later on at their tour there was plans to cancel shows due rumors I may play drums in the band. And members try to tell, just check out damn ID's. That Mikko character is NOT playing, and never has been involved in band. HAH!

But yeah, if you want to play in "Alerta Antifascista Death Fest", I guess you can expect certain amount of nonsense?

Yeah, a lot of this happens, like Skyforger saying they're not nazi's, but still having to cancel concerts. Which resulted in changing their logo in the end (which I think is pity, but I understand).
This however seems so far fetched! Which is why I joked about boycotting bands with members who wear Graves At Sea t-shirts...

That's great too, about the discussion whether you were in that band or not.

Indeed, on the other hand, if a band is going to play at Alerta Antifascista, they're probably not nazi's?!
I know that Alerta Antifascista label is going to get copies of an LP I want, but I'll be damned if I order it from them. I don't mind ordering from leftist labels (otherwise I wouldn't listen to some Crust Punk), but this is just over the top. Or maybe I should do it and then afterwards send him an e-mail: "haha, a nazi just ordered from your label!" (which I'm not, but I'm certain this guy will think I am). And then he has to send my money to a charity organization in Africa, because he can't keep my evil nazi money. (Ok, got to stop here, my imagination is on a roll now.)
