Not entirely sure if this is 'death industrial' (these names and genres all confuse me), but some great Italian experimental and violent music of the 1980s would certainly include the output of Mauthausen Orchestra. The original cassettes are up there with Sutcliffe Jugend for brutality and aggression, unforgettable and brilliant material.

From a completely different and quite academic perspective, the music of Giancarlo Toniutti from the 80s straddled modern classical and 'industrial'. I recently picked up the excellent Klanggalerie reissue of the obscure Broken Flag album 'La Mutazione'. Very unusual music which is truly difficult and challenging but rewarding listening.

The artist most similar in sounds to MB from the era is the mysterious Pietro Mazzochin, who worked under numerous names including Observation Clinique and Swastika Kommando, and who is shortly to become the subject of a reissue campaign. I've only heard his output on bootlegs and youtube videos but may well try to pick up some of the reissues. There still seems to be some dispute as to whether, like Maurizio Bianchi, he found religion after his noise adventures.

My favourite MB album is the stunning and just about perfect Morder Unter Uns/Neuro Habitat.

personally I think that Italian projects that fits in the "death industrial" umbrella started in the 90's with Atrax Morgue/Morder Machine, Today I am Dead, Dijin, No light of tomorrow, etc.
Before then there were mostly experimental projects, ritual/ambient, isolationist and power electronics/noise oriented.

In the 80's, until the early 90's, for sure MB, SODALITY, LAXATIVE SOULS, Giancarlo Toniutti, Bruno Cossano, early Ain Soph (although my fave records of them are definitely Kshatrya and Aurora), Sigillum S, Iugula-Thor (their first record THE WHEEL OF THE PROCESS is one of the best of those years and not only in Italy), etc.

Agreed.  He had some demos/edits tapes that he would send out to labels/friends, and though some of those ideas may have worked their way onto official tracks, they were good enough to be released as-is.  It's too bad that his scraps didn't get released.
