Quote from: Theodore on July 14, 2025, 09:32:16 PMIn my mind a ritual is slow, and that confuses me.

To me, something ritualistic is more about repetition. I mean, in both Eastern traditions and Western occultism, magic words and mantras are repeated continuously to induce a trance state in the practitioner.

From this point of view, I'd say that HNW could be considered ritualistic in a way.

Reading this thread also reminded me of another project I used to listen to quite often: Fanaticism.
It's obviously not pure P/E — some tapes lean more toward death industrial, others are a bit more ambient.

"Ecclesiastical Reich" could be a good starting point if you feel like exploring.

Orginally released in 1986 on tape by BloedvlagProdukt and now reissued on CD format, thanks to Industrial Recollections. This CD is quite strange in sound and has lots of weird textured static sounds and weird synth parts, or at least they sound like some weirdly manipulated synth parts. At times has some monotone voice parts and other weird honking sounds going on. I'd highly recommend this one to the fanatics of H.Ö.H. I really enjoy production of this album, sounds especially nice with the weird textures and sounds going on. It almost feels like being in some type of monochromatic industrial dream with the change in sounds from one weird path to another, the weird random synth parts make it all the more surreal and strange. It's definitely a relic from early Industrial/noise past. It's the first CD of the reissues that I've popped in for a listen, but definitely excited to hear the others as well.
Old Odal hits a spot that a lot of current stuff is aiming at in such a satisfying way

My own work.

Jokes aside, A LOT of the Fieldwork label output might fit this. Legion V.K. and Goldenpurifier come to mind.

Just as well no one made that claim.

Speak for yourself. Might I mention that I get massive street cred galore through my incredibly contrary stance wrt the watching of the TV, eg. NOT.

I stand corrected.

Quote from: Theodore on July 14, 2025, 10:58:26 PMSo rhythmic ? 'Danceable' ? From your initial description based on imagination and sound i would say something like this : https://fieldwork.bandcamp.com/track/death-of-the-soil , but now no way.

Golden Purifier is incredible.

Did anyone go to the reunion show?  The video clips that I have seen do not seem very impressive, but the recording quality is far from the best.

Disc 21: Back on track!  We are once again in the territory of industrial Merzbow.  At times almost like a harsher Throbbing Gristle.

RxAxPxE is a good one to check out in regards to occult/ritualistic type of industrial noise.
