I am going to have to bust that myth - neither that source or any comparable one was ever used.

Hope you are doing well, and I look forward to seeing more material from you!

Quote from: VORACLE on January 13, 2025, 07:35:27 PMThis is one of those projects I would usually ignore due to the band name (yeah this is a stupid notion, I know). That said, listening to Vivikta right now, and it's quite intense. I'll admit I've got a hard-on for pro- Eastern Vama Marga/Evolian themes nowadays, though.
the name has completely turned me off as well. it just seems very PE 101 - controversial name, songs about sex, degradation, etc... I'll give it a shot based on the thread but everything about it so far screams generic.

It's the furthest thing. Compositionally it's really nuanced as well. I've been rather surprised.

Not PE-related, but I'm reminded of the stellar Japanese melodeath group Intestine Baalism. For the longest time I avoided their output due to the band name. This proved to be a  mistake, as they are easily one of the best melodeath groups on the planet, eclipsing many Swedish bands in the same field.

Very understandable- I felt the same way too- it may not be the most original in concept (regardless of how personal it is to the creator) but it is one of the better 'new' PE bands out there. The agression and comittment of the sound impressed me.

Interesting to hear others perspectives on the name. I've never thought the project name was a turn off and on the contrary I found it to be right to the point, right up my alley and loved it immediately. The project delivers everything you'd expect by the such a name too. Almost reminds me of like some porno grind type of band name. The project definitely has a brutal beat you over the head to the point approach, especially in the beginning F&V albums and that maybe draws the more "metal" minded people like me to it, maybe not as much the average noiser. I'm glad Hagen chose the Scatmother to be the name. I think it's incredible!

Some of the project names can be so "fitting", that it does describe the project very well, but at the same time restrict what it is about. As example, something as blunt as "Clinic Of Torture".. that is what it is. Theoretically anything could be done, but the nature of name sort of dictates what the project is and can be. Some like, some would feel without ambiguity and flexibility, project sits in so tight box that unless you are really into it, then, you are most likely not into it at all. Scatmother certainly, as a name is so blunt that no matter how good noise it would make, I am sure it will appeal more to listeners of Terrorfuck666 than Joe Colley?

Genocide Organ, Operation Miranda, Grunt, Taint, Con-dom, Nicole 12, Control, Whorebutcher, Climax Denial... some projects's names really hit that nail of being precise and fitting. Know this has been discussed on other thread, though.

Not exactly PE type of industrial, but that is what I felt about this LP: https://www.discogs.com/master/31574-Bosnia-Bosnia
An artist takes Bosnia as a name, releases album called Bosnia which is about Bosnia... There was zero chance that it would be more than one-album-project.

.
Reminds me of "Geography of Hell" in its themes.

Anyway, which are other Noise/PE projects which draw aesthetic/lyrical influence from East religions? I imagine this wouldn't be so much groundbreaking in a style such as this, but can't think of anything in the moment? I know from a SI interview that Salakapakka Sound System is very well interested in the theme, though.

Also, on the "myth" question: don't know from where it came, but wouldn't it be false since if he did it he would end up.. in prison? There is this Pseudoscorpion album that people talk about online. Don't know whether it's another myth or if it actually exists, and don't even want to know. Holy shit, the holes we dig through.
