Any recommendations for bands that fuse noise into a more "musical" context?

Keen to find things outside of metal / hardcore that do this as well.

some notable ones for me, including my own:

basque - Pain Without Hope Of Healing
Karloff - Karloff
Negative Sun - MENTICIDE
Obroa-Skai - Science Progresses One Funeral at a Time
Portrayal of Guilt / Street Sects - split
Full Of Hell - Rudiments of Mutilation
clipping. - Visions of Bodies Being Burned
Violent Magic Orchestra - Death Rave
Malevich - Our Hollow

prolapsedlielack

The Locust, Knoll and Dragged Into Sunlight are by far the best (imo) that utilize it. DIS especially so.

Balor/SS1535

Boris had a full noise set-up as part of the band when I saw their last US tour.

That would be my list as well.  Early Ant-Zen and Hands (label) is where you want to look.  Imminent Starvation and Iszoloscope are a couple others.  There's A LOT to explore with these two labels.  But depending on how strict you are, you could even check out things like Muslimgauze - Iran and his 1988-1994 era.

Indeed! One of the best examples of this sort of crossover that comes to mind and an even more specific example of this would be the RFR/RXAXPXE split to showcase that notion even clearer.

HateSermon

Try Boy Harsher if you're looking for something outside of metal. Earlier works especially. Darkwave with some added harshness.

k.p.g

The Body have the best track record with this, in my opinion.  Christs, Redeemers is a record where they worked heavily with Scott from Work/Death to great success.
Dead Door Unit
French Market Press
etc.

Boy Harsher is great minimal synthwave/darkwave stuff. Definitely agree with you about the earlier material. The first album Yr Body Is Nothing is great and has very dystopian atmosphere to it.

Yes. Gnaw Their Tongues is another example of this.

Anne Gillis combines noise and musique concrète with "minimal" synth music well.
