2025 marks the fifteenth anniversary of New Forces. Thank you to everyone that has supported the label over the years. I have a few exciting things planned for this year, beginning with three new releases:

Green Tea - Bending Your Sauna CD
In 2022 New Forces received a pair of discs in the mail from Nick Forté (Rorschach, Raspberry Bulbs, Half Mortal) that contained the initial creative burst from his new project Green Tea. The albums were astonishingly well crafted and could hardly be considered "demos"; indeed, they felt like masterworks that emerged out of thin air, blending psychedelic harsh noise with ambient and new age music in a way that felt incredibly fresh and exciting. As the artist describes it, "I knew I was working on a new project when I began sessions for what would become Green Tea, but the focus was unclear at first. It seemed it would maybe be a dark ambient leaning project, but two tangents emerged; one more austere and darker and another somewhat surprising, a brighter strain that veered into what I was hearing as 'new age harsh noise.' I made many tracks and separated them into the two categories, and ultimately two albums; 'Snowblower' became the darker/austere record and 'Bending Your Sauna' the new age harsh noise album. Both records represent the genesis of Green Tea."
New Forces released one of those albums, "Snowblower," in 2023, and it quickly became a favorite for listeners attracted to Green Tea's unique approach, frequently cited as one of the better noise recordings in recent memory. The second of those two albums, "Bending Your Sauna," has been sealed away in temporary stasis, and is now ready to be enjoyed by all.
Shredded Nerve / Form Hunter CD
In the summer of 2023 Shredded Nerve and Form Hunter embarked on an East Coast tour that culminated at the Initial Shock festival in Montreal. This CD is a reissue of a limited edition tour cassette available at those shows, and also features a brand new track from each artist, totaling 4 tracks and more than 40 minutes of music. Psych-noise incantations colliding with metal junks avalanches that rip the forest to shreds. Smashing cassette players into oblivion with a baseball bat to the cheers of jubilant Canadians. And a border guard assuming (correctly) that someone in the car is using mind-altering substances.
Action/Discipline - Out Of Stasis Cassette
Action/Discipline (Stefan Aune & Brad Griggs) emerged from hibernation to perform at the Final Live Audio War festival in 2024. To celebrate, A/D released a limited edition cassette that featured four unreleased recordings that capture the projects approach, both live and in-studio, to high energy harsh noise. Out of Stasis includes a 2015 recording intended for an unrealized split tape, an unused compilation track, and two live recordings from Skeleton Dust Records HQ.
