I have been really interested in this project recently for his apparent thematic purity and because he creates his own instruments (it would be really cool to hear about these in more detail).  I have liked much of what I have heard by him, and would be really interested in learning more.

Also, the Maskhead Discogs page leads me to think that the project has performed live?

What releases are your favorites?

Ivan Rex

The most interesting for me, of all the Maskhead's releases, is "Qliphotic Doglust". I like this very distinctive material with strange (and perfect) metal-junk howlings, raw sound, and treble cut-off, which, in this case, makes the material even darker and wilder.

Cranial Blast

I've enjoyed many of the Maskhead releases, but one that sticks out in perticular that I quite enjoyed was Ritualistic Self-Mutilation CD/album. I really enjoyed the track Flesh Breathe that featured Scatmother on vocals. It left me in this awe...hoping that the two of them would just do one total collaborative type album in the similar type of fashion, sort of like how Scatmother and Pissoir Rouge have done. That would be really great!

There's a new Maskhead! (CD + 3"). I'm drawn to it for various reasons. But I need the fucker to not be 20min total. I'm waiting for durations info...

The CD is 35 minutes and 3" around 20 minutes, so you'll get your money's worth. Come to think of it, it's a bit of an odd choice for format? You could've fit everything on just the regular CD. Anyway, much recommended and I think best Maskhead this far.

The CD is a complete album, the 3" a bonus track - that's why Maskhead and Aussaat decided to split it.
This way it fits perfectly into the aesthetic concept of the set. The title of the set is: "Painful Persuation".

Try to find a copy of The Vital Organ Issue II, which includes an interview with Maskhead about his gear.
Yes, Maskhead did some live performances.
My favorites: "Force Of Submission", "Passion Bruises" and (of course) "Painful Persuation".

Thank you, I will check those out.  I have a scan of the interview in one of the Filth & Violence zines, but I feel that I have heard of this other---perhaps better?---interview before.  The main takeaway that I always had regarding this project is that I want to make my own oscillators.
