It's nice interview, in a way that despite talking to mr. Human Larvae since very early of his noise making, I always thought Broken Diode was the first project and HL followed. Learning few things in all interviews!
Back in those days, he was considering organizing GRUNT german tour and tried to book some autonomous centers for places. I remember I told this won't work out, and soon he found out it didn't. Haha! Nothing had been announced and it was all very early stages planning. I was quite confident it wouldn't be happening. At some point it was very much possible for noise (or pe) to tour and play multiple gigs in one country. Now, I do see it happening, for example Finland. Max Eastman, Pain Appendix, Violent Shogun, Putrefier & Evil Moisture... all have toured Finland, doing like 3 shows which all have enough crowd to justify it. But to tour in Europe now? 3 shows in germany during one weekend or something? I think it may be unrealistic to expect anything else than tag teaming with some sort of DIY circuit bending workshops, sound art scene and music shows... but noise gig for noise crowd? Not sure how much of that could be done.

Perhaps it would be nice to get some current touring artists impressions about it. There is new WCN with glass-in-your-face approach artists who mostly does live, but the sheer logistics or how live show climate has changed, if it has, isn't covered in public episode.

It is good that these interviews were done. I don't think much of "heavy electronics" / power electronics stuff is around, in podcast format. I think doing interview during festivals is challenging, if one wants to focus on live shows and meet the people and how to squeeze in interviews that are somehow relevant.

Merzbow is coming to Finland in January. Knowing his enthusiasm about AI, has anyone seen his shows lately and what can be expected?

FreakAnimalFinland

He said in recent interview that he is using AI for graphics only and so far not yet for music. He didn't say he would not, but at least not so far.

I didn't buy ticket yet. Waiting what would be the warm up artist(s) and consider it layer on.

I feel like I remember reading that Lucas Abela makes ample use of arts grants?  That might also make a difference in his case?

Test Dept are also coming to Finland in December:

I have no idea about their recent live shows, but since they´re gearing up for the release of Industrial Overture compilation of old stuff, that could give some hint...

Although I´m definitely interested in live Test Dept, a bar gig in Helsinki doesn´t really appeal to me in the slightest, but we´ll see.

Not sure how they do it these days, but I have a feeling it's a far cry from the old metal hammering days. I hope there'll be some more Scandinavian dates a little closer to home for me than Helsinki.

Live from last month, so it's probably the same set.

Pretty much as expected - not the big industrial spectacle they were known for in the '80s. That said, it's quite enjoyable nonetheless and something I would definitely buy a ticket for if they played somewhere not too far away.

Test Dept will also be playing Stockholm on December 20. Don't know about other Scandinavian dates, but this would surely be closer to you than Helsinki. I once attended one of their classic shows, Cannon Street railway station in 1984, not sure I would want to taint that memory by seeing the current technofied version of the group. But we'll see.

By the way, Merzbow is playing the same venue in January.
