slightly off topic but really doomladen dirty industrial techno/grabber, such as I was hearing at squat parties where all the bad drugs went to die and people just couldn't stop.
first saw men behind the sun at this type of event as background visuals

Any examples of that style of gabber/techno?

This song by Genocide Organ has always been to me a very intense and melancholic song for some reasons, the fact the noise in the background is changing tonality like chords, and mixed with the feedbacks, it's like a melody. Add to it the tensed vocals, and the chorus going on and on, it transports me in an emotionnal state that could be close to melancholia.

I really wish someone recorded the PGRM set because for me it had the stand-out track of the whole weekend (then again, XE will always be unmatched). It was the one with melancholic distorted keyboard melodies and sung vocals. Might've been the third track of the set? Worked so great and the language fits perfectly as well.

Is this one available for listening somewhere? Would really like to hear it!

A lot of Nicole 12's records are melancholic, but not in the same way as Ramleh's Hole in the Heart. Nicole 12 is a more sickening, self-hating kind of melancholy, with glimpses of degenerate beauty.

re-listening to the Port Out, Starboard Home compilation today and I was reminded of this thread. Along with Prurient's Cocaine Death maybe the penultimate encapsulation of "melancholic p.e."?  I still view it as the high point of Posh Isolation and one of the best compilations from the 2000s. The Damien Dubrovnik track is a massive highlight too.

another early posh isolation release in this category that is actually pretty good is the first damien dubrovnik, even though i must admit i am not so interested in this style generally, unless it is melancholic AND very brutal at the same time.. but this record is a pretty good example of that late 00's thing (i guess..?) apart from the usual suspects like prurient

I'm wondering if anyone could recommend some "melancholic" or eerie sounding noise/PE. I am thinking of things like Ramleh's Hole in the Heart (specifically "Bite the Bolster" and "Product of Fear"), NWW's Spiral Insana, and even moments of Grunt's Seer of Decay ("Dog in the Leash 1-5"). So I suppose I'm looking for things that are more atmospheric than violent.

I stumbled upon this thread as I was listening to The Von Einem Tapes 2CD. My finger was previously hovering over the thread for that release, but I'll comment here instead.

I think this is melancholic / atmospheric type Noise. It touches on harsh / violent subjects but not in an in-your-face way. Some of it reminds me of Boards Of Canada!

This is not my usual / favourite kind of Noise, but inbetween the full-on assaults of Vomir, Pain Jerk, Government Alpha, etc etc it's good to "take stock".

Day Of The Antler also comes to mind in this regard.

I really like early Damien Dubrovnik, as well as Body Sculptures. I think Posh Isolation really hit the sweet spot around that time.
