Available this July, Vanity Recordings is proud to announce reissues of the first two albums,
Dirt and
Rotten Sarkoma, by Japanese artist
Screloma. Jun-ichi Takahashi aka Screloma is a former member of Japanese industrial group Mothra alongside Masahiko Okubo (aka Linekraft) and metal percussion unit Inorganic Congeal. However Jun-ichi's solo work as Screloma stands on its own merits and stands out with its unique sound.
Dirt [VR-012] - originally released on CD in 2004 by Three Plugs Records,
Dirt delivers six studies of rhythm, tempo and aggression. Each track is built upon a pounding rhythmic core; some at machine gun fire pace, others stomp like ED209 trapped in tar, all are drenched in malice. Screloma's deranged vocals combine with a lattice work of screaming machines, whirring synths and balanced distortion to deliver the sonic equivalent
Tetsuo: The Body Hammer for 40 minutes straight. For fans of Chu Ishikawa, Nasenbluten and Dissecting Table.
Rotten Sarkoma [VR-013] - originally released on CDr in 2008 by Steinklang Industries,
Rotten Sarkoma is the patient, hulking juggernaut to the mongoloid half-cyborg kill machine that is
Dirt. This reissue is from the original master that was prepared in Tokyo. While rhythm appears here and there, texture is the primary focus on
Rotten Sarkoma. rusted iron, open-faced concrete, chemical burns and blisters. It's an hour of pure industrial waste. Recommended for fans of Rubber's Lover, Converter and rust.
Both tapes are professionally duplicated and limited to 100 copies. Wholesale is available. Contact perfectblue69 [at] hotmail [dot] com
Later this year Vanity Recordings and Uninvited Records will co-release the debut tape Virgin Entrails. Thirty-two minutes of skin-ripping, glass-slashing, electrifying harsh noise. And this fall Vanity Recordings will be reissuing the fourth album by Concrete Mascara,
History of Ruin, which was originally released by Trapdoor Tapes in 2015.
