TORTURING NURSE/NO VISITORS - I ALWAYS FEEL LIKE SOMEBODY'S WATCHING ME - CD$10
Shanghai based Cao Junjun began releasing noise in 2004 after a chance encounter with an armful Hijokaidan and Incapacitants records and has gone on to unleash a prolific run of releases on just about every format.
On this split with No Visitors we find Torturing Nurse in a churning, mechanical zone. Field recordings from an assembly line. Whirring sound of motors in a large warehouse ... metal on metal friction ... sounds of a small audience or manifestation of mental illness.
No Visitors side is pedal-through-the-floor, feedback and scrap metal abuse. Everything mashed through an old mixer that hasn't seen action since the Ford administration.
KNURL - CRYOCARBAZINE - CD$10
Alan Bloor has been grinding out a fearsome racket since 1994 with classic early releases on Alien8, RRR and Self Abuse among many others. A welder by trade, Bloor produces his sounds from a variety of homemade stainless steel instruments, car springs, saw blades and other scrap metal. Here we find Knurl in long-tone drone territory. One raw, unrelenting track of white hot grinding bowed metal sound.
