Rising Hostility attempts to trace the progression from abused child to abusive parent through broken memoirs, overheard arguments and a long built-up rage which overcomes the notion of "knowing better with hindsight". A fractured portrayal of alcoholism, domestic abuse, "trauma begets trauma".
