"I've been called a pervert because of the explicit art I show. To that I say, 'thank you.'"

Now available from New Forces: Richard Ramirez "Volume 2" 6-CD boxset, Form Hunter "Dread Harvest" two sided shirt, Kjostad "Weathering" 2xCD on Satatuhatta. The webstore is updated, and all orders receive a free copy of the latest New Forces zine, which features an interview with Richard Ramirez.

New Forces is proud to present Richard Ramirez Volume 2, a 6-CD boxset compiling some of the best work by noise legend Richard Ramirez.

It is impossible to overstate the importance of Richard Ramirez to the history, practice, and aesthetics of noise. He is an innovator in the development of "harsh noise" as a distinct genre of experimental sound, working under his own name as well as in seminal projects such as Black Leather Jesus, Werewolf Jerusalem, and literally dozens of others. Through his Deadline Recordings label Richard helped curate the distinctive "Americanoise" sound, pushing noise into increasingly aggressive terrain. Some of Richard's best work has been issued under his own name, and this collection is the follow-up to Volume 1, released in 2021.

This volume contains five classic 1990's Ramirez cassettes: Supply and Shutdown and Nature's Afterbirth (Deadline), Barebacking (Extraction), This Angel's Rusted Halo (Bloodlust!), and Mistaken Genital Apparatus (Stinky Horse Fuck). Each disc has been expertly remastered from the original master tapes by Grant Richardson, and original artwork has been sourced for the layout which includes an outer clamshell box and individual slip-cases, designed by John Wiese. The box also includes a large fold-out poster featuring original collage artwork by Richard Ramirez and extensive liner notes by Dominick Fernow that mine the depths of Ramirez's sonic world in highly personal detail. The insert also contains a variety of images sourced from Ramirez correspondence and mailorder ephemera.
