Quote from: NightsAquarium on February 13, 2026, 11:17:00 PMFFH makes a wonderful guest appearance on the new Age Of Enlightenment tape, Join UFO Cults. Very funny and poignant lyrics delivered in his trademark agonized, disease-stricken style.
Very good tape. As always with AoE, the sound of some very skilled, very deliberate craftsmen trying to sound like they don't know what they're doing. It's not uncommon to hear punk or metal bands underplaying for effect, or playing sloppily or poorly for the sake of communicating passion or concept, but noise bands underplaying is much rarer.

Anything Is Possible has just received a second edition. The best FFH C10, surely.

Plus a download for the entire boxset?  Can't go wrong with that.  A copy is headed my way now (plus a few other things!).

That $150 12" is mental. I think it has 1 unreleased track and the first demo on it. If reissues are coming though, I hope Make Them Understand is in the pipeline.

Is 2026 the year of FFH? Let's see...

Listened to the box-set from start to finish a good few times now. While finally getting to hear the mythical What's The Difference single, the superior alternate version of Against Ghettos' Fragrant Gardens and all that collaborative material with Lussuria is great, I somehow find myself most drawn to re-listening to his earliest, straight-up harsh noise recordings, meaning the Nadia and Silenced Whore tapes, the Audial Decimation comp track, the RRRecycled tape etc.

Despite this early material sounding almost nothing like the quite unique style of devastated, shredded PE he eventually developed, the atmosphere was there from the very start. Dark noise. Not the product of a scene, but of an attitude and a personal history.

New York or New York-adjacent noise in general from this era had such a strong and inimitable sensibility to it. Yellow Tears, Ahlzagailzehguh, FFH, Prurient, Cowards, K.P., John Mannion... An art school background in service of pornographic, psychosexual impulse. In retrospect, the most important noise of the mid-to-late 2000s and early 2010s was largely just coming out of New York and Finland.

Haaaaaaaaaah.  The Swedesboro Diner is pretty good!
Despite not clicking with much of Richard's recorded work, he is truly great live.  We played a show, funnily enough, at Heaven's Gate together in 2022.  Remember his set outshining headliner Rodger Stella by miles.
