Two split CDR releases of SICKNESS. Both from 2000. Prurient split is 20 mins mCD. Originally 3"cdr on Ninth Circle, but this one is Hospital productions reissue from same year as regular sized cdr. Sickness is harsh and fast paced, but still kind of "hand made" feel to it. Meaning cut up noise that could be played, as oppose to edited? Prurient is also harsh noise, but also moments of his old style of ultra high pitched feedback. All seems no-overdubs type simple noise recordings. Crispy and nice sound.
Phroq is good harsh noise accompanied with tasty sounds of asian sexy ladies moaning. I guess the asian-fetish might be a bit less popular in contemporary noise. It makes me wonder what other stuff I have from this guy. I think there was CDR on Stimbox's harshnoise -label at least... Anyways, Sickness here is really nice! I'm sure artists might not hold this material so high value, as it is really some of the early work, where no really cut ups, no stop & go, almost none of the trademark stylistics of Sickness, but nevertheless, it was some of the earliest things I heard and this is still solid harsh noise blasting. Fast forward, sharp, very distorted. None of the "wow how this was done" - moments, but simply "wow, hitting hard, with no mercy!".
