does anyone have the original or some other way to confirm that there is supposed to be that white noise burst on purpose every 20 seconds or so? sounds to me like somebody used some trial version of a commercial plugin to work on the digital transfer of the tape.... demo versions of some plugins do that bshhhhh sound every few seconds.... if thats on the original also then i just made a jackass of myself, if not then what a crapp transfer!!

Don't have the MB set but wouldn't be too surprised if it had some plugin demo spicings. Some years ago I was handed a mastering job where the material came from VoD (via 3rd party). I noticed some tracks had digital glitches and I requested another copy thinking it was a problem with the CDr. 2nd copy had the same issue and eventually I never got a clean version (requested all the way from the source), in the end I raised my hands and didn't do anything but just pointed out the defect to the label. Still they released the material as such, uh. Funnily enough the artist himself pointed out the defects in Discogs.

pretty unbelievable... also, i hate to admit this, but some of these sound like raw source recordings of random synth tweaking... kinda really lame. but to overcompensate on the other end, the good tapes are fukin xlent!!

a keeper for the good ones and a pox on the lame ones!!
