"Over" is good. I tend to be more adverse to explicitly personal expressions in any kind of art, but this particular spiral was well done. The drone itself was good and thick and just the right shade of sinister and the confessions themselves interesting. I have to commend that individual for his honesty, but also hope he's getting professional help if he feels he needs it.

And it's great to see another label using Bandcamp to re-release out-of-print material. Right now I'd suggest that the best format for re-releases is not box-sets or individual albums, but this kind of simple, accessible online forum. Money can still change hands if that's seen as necessary, but free or not, this is the best way to re-release.

After telling him about The Rita data dvd, a friend and I were musing on another alternative - the SD card. Not sure that anyone has used this method of distribution yet (happy to be proven wrong); large capacity so lossless file formats/size no problem and almost all new PCs or laptops have card reader installed now? Can put a custom sticker on them too and easily mounted inside some kind of sleeve or printed matter.

With SB cards, the only limit to packaging and content would be imagination. I believe USB sticks have been somewhat trendy in some circles but any media like that is still a good and under-exploited idea. Such things would be good for large scale re-releases as opposed to single albums.

Yes absolutely - pointless for a single album, but for a complete retrospective or collected works it could be good.

USB stick is a very good idea for lots of material. I think I have only seen some Alva Noto releases on this format for Raster-Noton.

UR-Clandestine Meeting Park

UR's music is mostly based on free improvisation and its sonorities can't easily be described without referring to the well-known and wildest experiments of Industrial music of the late '70s / early '80s , but also to the psychedelic kraut-rockers of the late '60s / early '70s. Drones, samples and layers of electro-acoustic noisescapes coming from objects, field recordings, analog and traditional instruments processed using a load of pedals and effects.

Glad to hear, Andrew! Well, I've since been in contact with the "individual" and while he's not as "bad" he's still fighting his personal demons. I almost felt that this recording was some sort of cathartic therapy which of may lead to actual professional therapy. No go!

Agree on your assessment of Bandcamp. I've been using it for the last 3-4 years. Perfect for my label needs.
