Noise artists without ”hit albums” you need more

Edge of Decay is the very first that comes to mind and hasn't been named yet. But I think, at least if I correctly interpreted the original post, this criterion can be applied to any (or many) harsh-noise project that is at least good, as it is a musical genre not really focused on the single song's trademark, rather on other parameters (sound sources, overall atmosphere, mix of sounds, effects, etc..).

I can't point to anything that "stands out" as a "hit." Indeed, the very nature of what he does with his black ambient/noise murk and dirge doesn't even lend itself to "hits," even more so than a lot of noise. His discography has never been about reinventing the wheel, just refining his "thing." But taken as a whole, there's something about it that always hits that sweet spot for me and I always find any of his releases interesting.

I could say similar things about Control, although his sound obviously does lie closer to what you might consider "traditional" ideas of music, and there are certain releases that do stand out for me (Deadly Sins, Misanthrope, Transgression). But taken as a whole from his earliest to his latest output, I wouldn't say there's a massive change. Just solid output all around that always does something for me and is an impressive whole. Like Knurl, you always know its going to rock.

Thinking about another one today, which would be A Fail Association.  There are plenty of great AFA releases to be had, killer comp tracks, but nothing I could point people to directly and be like "start here."  If someone asked me which of his things to begin with, I would honestly just start with the last thing I heard.  Quality hasn't really dwindled at all over time.
Dead Door Unit
French Market Press
etc.

All AFA is just one big hit album!

Control does what he does very well and it's always great. Remarkably solid consistency over the years.

I haven't listen to him for ages and thanks for your post did it today. After such a long break I absolutely enjoyed Advent - mostly blown away. But it could also be a coincidence with the specific mood today

Has Sissy Spacek been mentioned in this thread? Do they have a definitive "hit" album?

I've spent many recent hours doing intense listening and research. I somehow overlooked them until now. And now I am completely Sissyfied! 😂

I seem to be buying them all. (Well, not quite.)

They've taught me to appreciate the 20min album. (Or EP.)

None that I could immediately point to.  The line between the band's current output and Wiese solo is very thin at this point.

Circling back to this thread after mentioning Legless in the "playlist/comments" discussion.  Feel like there is no direct album of Danny's that I can point to, but everything I have heard is pretty damn good.  Feels like the project is more a personal extension of the man's day-to-day lifestyle than any kind of project that aims to make a "definitive album" or anything.  It's worth checking out.
