CREMATION LILY:Cremation Lily is the project of UK based Z. Zsigo. For the past 5 years Zsigo has been consistently working under most people's radars with his distinctly personal take on power electronics, developing a modest cult following and a respectable catalog of releases through his Strange Rules label. In 2012 the project was brought to the attention of Steve Underwood from Harbinger Sound who subsequently released the 'Fertility Servent' 7" and the project began to gather a more visible live presence thanks to gigs with the likes of Consumer Electronics, Con-Dom, Natural Assembly and on the east coast of America too with Alberich and Âmes Sanglantes.
Since then CL has had tours in Europe, UK, Russia, and the music has been heavily affected by my life changing since then. Now the past, even difficult and horrifying moments, can be viewed with a bit more nostalgia. The project uses found sounds more heavily now, sounds of my own and other peoples intimacies. Previously CL was about a sense of place, now more and more I think it represents a specific sense of time. It still generally falls within industrial, electronic music boundaries but maybe more influenced by today than by the past."
PESTORGEL:Pestorgel is the sound of struggle and toil in an infertile rural marshland, where life is as unforgiving as it is unrewarding, and hard work only compensated with nothing but death and disease. Scrap metal noise and feedback worship.
JUKKA SIIKALA:I reach for ecstatic nausea with conflicting elements. I utilize painting techniques by mixing traditional layer painting and the coarse side of popular imagery in the vein of 70's American photo realism. As raw material I use amateur pornography. I copy the original models quite faithfully favouring strict cuts through human figures as compositional brutality. The same unintentional spirit of mercilessness can be seen in the errors of pixelated digital images that he has used as models. The selected images are tuned up with more or less intuitive elements and references to medical illustration. In my latest works I have included expressive painting style as contrast to realistic details, yet still trying to avoid too much creativity and stylizing as a humanizing factor. As a side-product, there emerges reflections of current trends in the same wretched style as in eurotrash and exploitation cinema. Consequently I label myself as a trash artist. I also experience resemblance with extremist noise music.
On "Human Porridge": "The pixellated tissue of Human Porridge video is knitted of porn and surreal dreamy elements. The digital bubbling of constantly deforming and decomposing bodies balances between abstract and real, trance and violence. The soundtrack binds the imagery and underlines selected emotions."
SVARTVIT:Svartvit breaches the gap between harsh noise sound experimentation and performance art. The result is a very personal and emotional presentation of a troubled mind, overtaking and often physical. Harsh Noise Catharsis.
