Martial industrial - Arditi

I like listening to Arditi. Mostly I like the albums Spirit of Sacrifice and Insignia of the Sun. I do not know if they are fascist though, they seem to be about European history and previous world wars. Does anybody know what the track New Atlantean God is about from the last album I mentioned

Yes, worth listening to along with the likes of early Der Blutharsch,Laibach, etc. to have a good reference point for how martial industrial is supposed to sound, and where it goes awry.
I'd say alot of the SkullLine catalogue is worth trawling through, aswell. God bless that label

There is a great criticism of Rome over on the Counter Currents site, which is probably the most important thing I have read regarding the whole genre & aesthetics!

Arditi are far more into the heavy martial ambience, with no real song-based material. Also, more sincere - certainly than Blutharsch, but also than Laibach, though in a different way. In fact, they're probably the most unambiguous of the 'big' names save, maybe, Von Thronstahl.

Arditi are one of my favourite projects of any genre since the release of the first album, which still stands as my favourite release too.

Not so much martial as it is 'neo-classical', but I really liked the Von Thronstahl side project - The Day Of The Trumpet Call. No storming military marches to be heard but some very sombre music.

Stahlwerk 9 - Der Tod Nagelt Die Augen Zu, this one got a lot of plays when I listened to this style a lot more.

Funerary Call has some very martial moments on Beckoning At The Black. Doesn't take a genius to figure out how high I regard his releases.

Triarii and early Puissance aswell. Puissance lost me after Total Cleansing.

I like percussion a lot.  I'm disappointed, generally, in all genres of music I like for the lack of instruments like timpani and orchestral chimes.  If not full on accompaniment, the accents these instruments can provide are potentially very powerful.  I don't listen to a lot of classical music, so maybe I'm missing the obvious arena.  I do find sampled timpani in soundtracks on occasion.  Big drama.  Even if they had to come out of a sampler, because the cost and access to these things isn't commonly within reach, would be fine.

As for martial, this track has always stood out to me.  From Apoptose - Blutopfer 2002.  Marching drum cadences are cool.
