Duncan

This shouldn't really count because it IS a music based channel but does anyone know Eddy Tan?

As far as I can tell it's the product of a Malaysian guy (possibly living in the USA?) who makes videos of himself playing various instruments at home and in public while also discussing various issues or demonstrating domestic things like cooking an egg in water rather than oil in other videos.  Now, he is utterly inept at all of this stuff which I suppose makes up a large part of the draw to watch him but there is something more going on here than simply 'hah he's shit at guitar'.  Dozens of videos of him playing piano/bass/guitar...even driving....with only one hand or with a drumstick as though this on its own is a notable achievement in spite of sounding indistinguishable from a child banging on a toy.  Even better are some of his home recordings of songs which come off like some of the most glorious, lofi no wave noise as you could hope to encounter.  You could play this stuff to someone and they'd  totally assume it came from some american art student's basement rather than the apartment of a strange, solitary man who seems to just think he is making rock music.

There's a lot of Christopher Hitchens to be found on YouTube, which I'm grateful for; I was late to the party.

Joe On a Boat sounds like a unique channel! It's great to see creators who push the boundaries of typical humor and content, making something truly original.

I haven't seen Joe's videos yet, but from your description, they seem like a refreshing departure from the norm. YouTube really is a treasure trove for discovering niche and fascinating content beyond mainstream entertainment.

For anyone looking to edit videos, perhaps to create something as unique as Joe's content, exploring editing software that's budget-friendly yet robust is key. For instance, those looking for Final Cut alternatives might find useful resources here. This could be a great start for anyone needing powerful editing tools without the high cost of professional software.
