Was just listening BUSRATCH LP on RRR. I was blown away by noisiness of their split CD with Hijokaidan and also managed to see one of their live sets in my trips to Japan some years ago. Killer stuff.
Forced Exposure says about LP:
Japanese turntable project probably best known for their work with Otomo Yoshihide and Hijokaidan. After numerous CDs, this is their 1st LP -- it also happens to be their final recording. The band has decided to part ways so the members can pursue new projects. Side 1 = two elegant contemporary avant garde compositions -- kinda reminds me of AMM if they were DJs. Side 2 = 99 lock grooves. What I say about LP is that I'm kind of tired of locked groove records by now. So one side is just quickly skipping from one to another, without caring of missing one or few grooves. Actual music side is great. First I had been slightly disappointed that material is not really noise here. Not like Hijokaidan split. But also, this isn't "DJ music" by any means. It's making experimental music by playing destroyed records. Best full of crackles, pops, broken loops, reversed rotations, skipping grooves, but in the end it actually becomes oddly relaxing music involving malformed calm instruments mixing with noisiness of "analogue error".
Can't find any links to any works. Here is some collaboration stuff with Otomo Yoshihide, but I think all Busratch own works has been much better.
