i have some very shitty looking shelves that i built and mounted on my wall (no pic) -- bought a bunch of 1x4 lumber, measured and cut to size.  it's ugly as fuck-- i built it using improper tools and surfaces out of necessity-- but it does the trick.

or you could just get some of these: http://www.deltamedia.com/BRYCO-CP-48.html?leftmenu=storageracksnav

Old children's clothes dresser.  They're smaller than the adult version and usually have shallow drawers.  But they are furniture and a pain to move.  I'd like to find an old library index card cabinet, but they aren't as easy to locate anymore (and often sell for ridiculous prices).

I only buy vinyl, d00ds.

I'd go to www.needledoctor.com and do a search for your price range.  $250-500 should be a decent way to start.  Then, I'd research those models.  I used to recommend the entry level Project table, but I'm not happy with the longevity of the motor.  I've heard similar stories about having to replace the motor as well.  As you're looking at these, I'd try to keep in mind that a good starter cartridge is anywhere from $100-200.  Needledoctor buys in bulk, so you can find some pretty nice deals for both the table and cartridge.  I wouldn't expect to pay anywhere near MSRP, especially for the cartridge.  I also wouldn't hesitate to get on the phone with them to wheel-and-deal.  Decibel in Chicago is another store I'd visit.  If you aren't afraid of buying used, Audiogon is a good place to look as well.
