I think same topic has been discussed already decades ago, possibly all noise forums where Macronympha is discussed, it's not like SI forum would be first time.

You'd think the guy who was in the band and proud of his work with it would have more in his collection than that.
Dead Door Unit
French Market Press
etc.

He's always kind of had this attitude of writing off valid criticisms and opinions as "shit talking" etc. I had the misfortune of working for him on the Bizarre Audio label for a couple years, I admit I should not have agreed to...

Anyway he's out of the band and Macronympha is just Joe now. And Joe didn't even know half those shitty cdrs/tapes were released at the time, he never told me to send copies to Joe.

"30-50 copies" more like 5 copies of most of that junk, and I would know because I was handling the orders. I don't remember any trades either.

Read Joe's interview in the "Hardcore Country Western" zine that All/Mlehst did a couple years ago if you can find it...

Must have gotten a batch from you then, I remember being slightly confused about the package coming from the states and not Ecuador but quickly forgot about it. It was the aforementioned "Burdens of ideology" box and some other non-split tapes; I think they are done well, unlike some of the CDrs that I picked up second hand somewhere else.

I still believe the idea of collabs/splits with a shotgun approach no matter the clout of the artist is nice, but if Joe wasn't informed or supportive of those releases that is of course unacceptable.
I wonder if that goes for the 'higher profile' splits like the Incapacitants or the Rita ones too, which also released on other labels alongside BAA. Must track down a copy of that zine eventually.
