FORCE_XLVII Plagues "Opiate Withdrawal" Lathe 7"As venomous & misanthropic as ever, Michigan's Plagues returns with two cuts of raw industrial filth. "The Whip of Faith" brings forth a nonstop assault of heavy electronic waste, a salacious pummeling of the self. On the flip side "The Scent of Frost" settles into a depressive, yet murderous atmosphere. No hope, not ever. Essential showing from the NO COAST elite.
FORCE_XLVIII Sunken Cheek "While Light Is Cast" Lathe 7"An illusive fixture in the North American scene, New York's Sunken Cheek has slowly been carving out a strickeningly bleak body of work completely unique in its presentation & has served as a constant source of inspiration over the last six years. "While Light As Cast" highlights a turning point in the project, pairing the harrowing electronic atmospheres of earlier recordings with a heavily beat driven approach akin to what one could call "pop" sensibilities. Essential listening for all fans of unique, minimal music.
FORCE_XLIX Kjostad "Like Glass" CSThird document from Kjostad, a recent recording project of Stefan Aune (Breaking The Will, Action/Discipline, New Forces). Offering a counter to their debut release "Wolf Knoll Road", Kojstad brings forth 20 minutes of lush textural exploration brimming with growth after the thaw. Field recordings mix with subtle acoustic improvisations & sparse electronics; An early indicator of all that will remain after the power cuts out.
FORCE_L Eric Schlappi "Moon's Spawn" CSUF is proud to release some of the first new recordings from Southwest based artist E. Schlappi in quite some time. A dominant figure in the Tucson experimental music scene, Schlappi's unique brand of rough modular experiments chained to an unmatched obsession with analogue synthesis has led to several mind altering performances through out the last year. "Moon's Spawn" offers a quick glimpse of things to come, full length "Poseidonis" is planned for later this year.
FORCE_LI Insone "O Rosto" CSMenacing Brazilian Death Industrial from Terror Noturno label head. Highly composed & dynamic, "O Rosto" brings forth a dense mix of sonic oppression drawing heavily from a rich history of dark ambient, industrial noise & power electronics while simultaneously offering a refreshing lens to a sea of material overwrought with trite displays of aggression & hate. Shares members with primitive black metal kommando VERME who debuted on the venerable Fallow Field earlier this year.
WILLFUL INDUSTRY V. Sinclair "Desire" & "To Be Another" Silkscreen PrintsNew visuals from Providence, RI based artist V. Sinclair for the eve of 2015.
