KRISTIAN OLSSON: GENFÄRD [C60 + booklet]
"Genfärd" is a twisted choir of castrated voices and teeth-grinding clamor rolling out of a coffin-lid eroded by rot, rat and ruin. Blended with the miscarriages of ages past and the decay of eternities to come, the recordings summon the distress of the untimely dead, the moldered sacrament of ill-willed wraiths and sickly vampires sucking at the cancerous teat of astral evil. It is the alarm of the spirits of the dread marches, the smothered prayers of hope from the souls turning in the ground, the call of the devil stalking the midnight cross-road in the forest, and the corroded bells of forgotten rural churches. From the bone-yard to the barren fields, "Genfärd" reeks of death and damnation, of the great existential murder that runs like thick poison through barren Swedish soil, filling the throats of those that beg for mercy unto silent gods. And as a poison it will turn you into its feverous wasteland, change and derange you, drown and dissolve you, bleed, hang and bury you... Until your existences has become but another voice lost in that very horrid choir that extends out from the tomb of time.

RICHARD MOULT & MICHAEL MORTHWORK - The Man Whom The Trees Loved [C32 - out on 7th September]

Dedicated to the memory of Algernon Blackwood (1869 - 1951), fellow seeker of the Numinous within and without.

The recording you are about to hear is a collaborative concept piece, based upon Algernon Blackwood's short story, "The Man Whom the Trees Loved". It is both beautiful and disturbing, relating the inner struggle of a man between the call of the Numinous and his worldly existence. Both try to claim him for their own. It is a theme Blackwood returned to time and again in his writing and is no doubt a reflection of his own conflicted desire to submit to the keenly felt pull of the wildernesses which he himself was continually drawn to.

Usually Blackwood's fictional protagonists pull back from the brink, or are otherwise saved from imperilling their souls, having been lured to apparent destruction by uncanny forces of nature that cannot be rationally explained. However the man of this tale is fully won over by that nameless "curious flaming splendour" and is lost to the known world forever. The music herein is therefore concerned with the melancholy joy and divine beauty of Numinous apprehension, and the despair and terror of those left behind unable to comprehend.

WINTHEER - Sjukedom [C40]
After 15 years of inactivity, incarceration and insanity - the terror of Timrå has returned. Deranged sounds made in isolation with no knowledge of other forms of industrial musick. After his performance this spring at Exasperations, he proved that he is still a black force to watch out for.
