Any recommendations on a compact analogue mixer without sliders?
I'm looking for something that has a knob matrix interface, like this and which is also possible to get hold on.
The rougher the better, so rather metal than plastic casing.

A simple stupid summing device would do, with 4 or more inputs.
Maybe something more erotic than the Behringer MX400.

I'd consider building something myself, but probably saving my health by asking here first.

Boss BX- and KM-series mixers are exactly what you are looking for. They're robust, dirty sounding and overdrive is super nice when the channel gain is applied. BX series are made of plastic but they are robust.

Excellent, thanks! For some reason these never popped up in my research. The KM with > 4 channels are quite expensive, but heck, 4 channel ought to be enough for everyone.

Yeah, they are expensive but summing mono mixers like KM-4, KM-40 and KM-400 are cheap as chips! Same goes to BX-4 and BX-40.

If youre looking for a matrix mixer I can build you one.
Anything worth doing is worth doing right.
