I actually bought No Clean Girls poster from museum store. It was most definitely the most striking painting of exhibition and will be framed in the kitchen!
There is this colorful, semi naivistic, kitch kind of thing in Ainalas work, plus non-stop repetition of something. You could easily lump it together with names like Trevor Brown or Mark Ryden and so on... but also in other hand, I walk right now in Lahti, Rautatienkatu street, where is this exhibition window of bunch of female artists and half are doing "the same". Of course its not exactly same, its more like same in style of noise tape cover collage. Hah. So yes, it might have some personal leanings, yet art may still fit into this very specific approach relying also on mass volume. Not only about one great masterpiece and one great idea. Exhibition having so much stuff there, it reveals the element of mass, element of repetition and playing with kind of.. should I say pop cultural and almost trite iconography?
