I like Life Goes On, Yutris and Elephant in the Snow. The overall warmth of the sounds, the scattered way more bothersome sounds are placed with familiar sounds and such feel like something remembered and nostalgic. I haven't spent much time with the other works.

I was listening to Elephant in the Snow again on my drive home yesterday, and my thoughts went to the strange little story that appears with the album---supposedly "explaining" the driving concept.  Part of me thinks the whole thing is about 9/11, but perhaps that is too blunt?  Any thoughts?

It's more likely to be a text lifted from somewhere and fucked about with imo. I could be wrong. This might have been a convo I had with the man himself near to when it came out but have since drunkenly erased from my brain. I think it's generally not a great idea to take any Star Stimuli too literally. There will be personal meaning to the artist in there but buried beneath zillions of layers of circumstance and abstraction.

Given the strong basis of that album in sampling, the appropriation of the text would not be surprising at all.  At the same time, however, it's not as if it means nothing either (not that that's what you are writing, to be fair).  While it is perhaps wrong of me to think about it in terms of "explanation," it nevertheless does reflect the generally melancholic tone of the noise.
