While dwelling on the topic of artists that never released something after announcing it due to whatever circumstances, I really started to think of HOW these things could have sounded. A prime example being the TF/PE comp "Skin Flicks" that had a lineup of "Mania, Atrax Morgue, The Rita, Slogun, Morkermaennen, Moribund, Liver Mortis, Pleasure Fluids + Others"

What else can we think of? Any sort of "lost to time" releases?

The Steve Stapleton + John Balance sessions- a year or so after Balance's death, Stapleton revealed to Wire mag that the pair had worked on some kind of release circa the early '90s, though after several days of intensive work they decided that what they'd recorded was sub-par, so the tapes were erased.

Shame- the albums credited to Stapleton/Tibet and Stapleton/Wakeford from the same time period are excellent.

I know plenty of projects that were under work, and then just... didn't get finished. I have been part of various duo recordings, that managed to finish one or more tracks, but not enough to really become public. There are some songs in archives over the years. In Finnish perspective, one could ask what if HÄKKI would have managed to continue till full album? What if Eleczema didn't run out of steam and actually finished his full length with additional good tracks? (you can hear one killer track on new compilation HATEFUL BLISS that was part of the album that Freak Animal rejected).
